Jodha is on a roll these days. Finally I get a chance to keep praising her and how I wish I was here last week to write more about her. Yesterday I got back late in the night, but could not stop myself from summarizing my POV. Specially, when I had noticed so many positive changes in Jodha.

Moti rightfully points to Jodha that they have suffered enough through so many KAANDs and its best to stay away from another one. On top of it their stay in Agra has been just of few months and their understanding of the people here is bare minimum. But, does this stop our fearless Jodha - ofcourse not! She had no problem in depicting her hatred openly to Jalal, the shenshah! Then, why would she fear Adham - the cheapuddin. She very cleverly takes the right step of reaching out to the girls parents, to warn them about cheapo's intention. The pathetic mom refuses to do anything against the cheapo or her husband. In a way it was good that Tasneem heard all of it, that her mom is not going to support her in anyway and her doubts about Cheapo are right. Only a person who cares about humanity can take a bold step like Jodha. She barely knows Tasneem and understands the power Adham holds, but still decides to do the right thing. This is the biggest difference between Ruqu and Jodha that will attract Jalal more towards Jo. Ruqu cares about herself only or with issues that might give her more power. In case of Moti incident also she did not defend her even though she knew Cheapo was the culprit. Even then Jodha supported Moti, and now she will support Tasneem.

Jodha is not hesitant in responding to Cheapo's questions about her visit. She openly warns Cheapo that she is aware of his intentions and will not let him succeed. I know many people would feel that this is foolishness. But, when your heart is pure and soul is clean - you are transparent. Such people rarely get scared of anything. They are the kind who do the right thing and do not worry about the consequences. God does stand by them, sometimes they see failures but in the end the purity always wins. Now that Jodha is a queen, it's her responsibility also to make sure that the subjects are happy. The cheapo has decided to marry Tasneem as he knows that Jodha can get him in trouble otherwise. Jodha ko kaun rokega, woh to ab seedha apne tede Jalal ke paas pahunch gayi! Another slap on MA/Cheapo coming up, getting slightly worried for Jodha. But, I know Jalal is there to protect her..

I wrote about MA's dubious character yesterday. How she and BB can do anything for their other love. Today, I saw another trait of MA. She is very calculating and possessive about Jalal's love for her. She feels cheated by Jalal that he did not consult her in case of Jodha's pregnancy and for the subaidari post. She is one dangerous naagin who is extremely manipulative and political. She will not stop reminding Jalal of her Doodh ka karz' till the last day of her life. I am pretty sure the letter she sent to Jalal only talks about how dejected she is feeling that her son did not include her in these important issues. She might have also mentioned that may be the vajirealliya post should be given to someone else as Jalal does not trust her anymore. Gosh, another Jalal consoling MA scene might be coming up - hate the white Naagin so much!

It was good to see Jalal and Ruqu being their old self again. I loved Ruqu's suggestion on political matters, she is one sharp lady for sure. I hope CVs continue to show the positivity in this character as she did play an important role in Jalal's life. Just because Jodha is going to be the love of Jalal, Ruqu's character does not need to be butchered. Hope their friendship is not ruined by turing Ruqu evil. I hope for sometime MA focusses more on Ruqu as she is the one who stopped Cheapo from getting more posts. That way our JaJo can be left alone to build more stronger relationship.

So Adham is the new chepo...I think he is worse than a cheap...Words fail me where these mother and son and Resham are concerned...Oh God when will AK die?
Yes Jodha will fight but spoilers have said that she will loose...

Who is worse parent--Tasneem's mother or father?

Great post BTW...

Meghna, am having mixed feelings regarding this track. In 16 th century , all this happened naturally, parents married off their kids, with or without the kids consent, to men of much the same age or even to older men, & polygamy was the norm too , in Islam & sometimes in the Hindu society too. So I dunno exactly who to support or accuse here.

Regarding MA , I long ago lost any sympathy for her & I ll never consider her feelings for Jalal as selfless at all, atleast not now . Jalal kab realise karega ke he s paid her 'doodh ka karz' a zillion times over & that too with high percentage of interest 😭 .

Like u, I dont want Ruq s complete loss of stature either. She gave him very sound advice today. But let s see what hara kiri of characters they have in store for us yet 😕 .

And the precap, well as I told u , am not entirely convinced with the arguments for this track in the background of that era, so my comments are reserved till I make better sense of it.

I agree with Gayatri here...

We know Adham's a cheapo so we hate this..but., this would have totally been the norm then...
so, still this track isn't making too much sense to me...
anyway, I think I'll have to take off my 16th century glasses and put on my 21st century glasses for now..

as for the rest of it, I like what you've written about Jo...but I wish she'd not keep confronting Shareef and Adham openly...much as she is brave and straightforward (admirable qualities) she is a woman - a queen...if she doesn't have Jalal to protect her (which we know she would) she could get into deep trouble with them trying to tarnish her reputation/her safety...She's barely recovered from the Shareef fiasco!

I wish she did whatever she does to do good to people - but, more stealthily!

Thanks Ela. Men like AK exist even today, utter disgrace to society. I hope the spoilers are true as I am pretty sure this track will also make Jalal understand Jodha's passion for humanity.

Hi Gayatri,
I agree that this track is hard to digest for 16th century. But, Jodha is always been shown ahead of her time and so was Jalal. I also wished they had better track than this, but feel this is a good cause for Jodha to take up. By supporting the dasi, Jodha is giving hope to the poor that they do not need to bear the brunt of powerful men. How I wish something about this was written in the past. All we need is few people to change the old belief system and who better to do that than our own JaJo. I strongly feel this track is being used to show the passion Jo has for humanity to Ja. Its going to touch Ja as to how much a queen cares about ordinary people and justice. Lets see how they unfold it..

Hi Lashy,

Agree, the track doesnt make complete sense. But, like I said in my response to Gayatri I feel this track is to show the Jodha who was ahead of her times and cared for humanity very passionately. I understand where you are coming from about Jodha's open challenge to Adham. I can totally relate to that, if you are fearless and passionate about justice than nothing can keep you from doing the right thing. Jo has always been shown to stand up for justice, even in Amer. She was the one who could not be kept in the four walls of Mahal, someone who had a mind of her own. I agree its hard to believe that those type of women existed in that era, but apne bollywood mein sab chalta hai. She did try the stealthy approach first but Adham came by. Like I said, fearless people never do things behind the back. Jo karte hai danke ki chot pe - Jodha is like that! I love her for that!

Agree with u abt Jodha s upright character & for her open stand on certain things. But even in today s world this doesnt work all the time much less in the complicated maze of 16 th century Mughal royalty , & especially the convoluted harem life. Like Lashy says, it has to be shown soon that not all wars, whether the one Jo s taking on now or a battleground war, arent fought and won by this much openness. Jodha has to learn a certain amount of tact & stealth too , as already her forthrightness has landed her up in a soup or two. Tedhapanti in certain situations is required & when Jo learns that , she d make a stronger impact as a great ruler s consort, I d say.

sbb said that jalal will support jodha this time, lets see if she will lose or not...maybe the precap happened after she opposed adham marrying tasneem in open forum, and got rejected, maybe now she will talk to jalal and jalal will support her...i hope tasneem will not be forced to marry adham.

JOdha is a pure soul with a heart of gold.Yet another instance we got to see that.
BUT BUt I have several buts here...
By now she mustve realized that for her to be effective and survive she needs to know when to say what , also whom to say what.
Her blurting out to Sharreef came back to haunt her. She mustve taken some lessons learnt from the fake pregnancy fiasco.
I don't think she should've confronted Adham yet.
Helpless Balika in the 16th century. Am not sure where the creative team is going with this story... Tansneem looks like a kid and Adham is much older...But getting a girl married against her wishes was something that was very common then...
Lets wait and see
Nice post, Meghna, good to see u.
