A very lucid, coherent, logical and comprehensive analysis, my dear, but then I am hardly surprised by that!

Coming to the present point of dissension, more than anything else, Meghana, Jalal was willing to abandon his throne just to keep his word to Jodha. I am continually amazed at how casually such a gigantic gesture is forgotten! I felt very strongly that it was highly irresponsible of him to have made any such offer, which was completely contrary to his rajadharma, but the fact remains that he was willing to make an unbelievable sacrifice for Jodha's sake.

After the tiger mauling, when he thinks he is dying, he does not utter a single word of reproach to Jodha. It was incredible.

He goes out of his way to make sure that Sukanya not only gets married but has a place of honour in her sasural.

I really do not know what more people want from him. I wish Jodha had got married to a proper macho Rajvanshi who beat her daily like Sharifuddin, and had had a vicious nanad and, instead of Hamida who loves her more than her own son, a saas like Meerabai's. Then all these nakhre would have been got out of her long ago, including the idea, bizarre in those times, that her husband had to wait for her explicit consent and pleasure before touching her.

Take a look at Maharana Pratap, which is far more historically authentic (and no wonder it won so many awards at the ITA, to next to none for JA), to see how a proper Rajput queen was expected to behave, especially towards her husband. I do not know where these CVs got their Jodha from, but realistic she is not.

Nor is Jalal for that matter. The real Akbar would not have tolerated all this nonsense from Jodha for a minute, and even if he did not want to do any bal prayog on an unwilling wife, would have pronounced the triple talaq and dumped her back in Amer labelled "psychologically damaged goods". Wink

Jodha is constantly talking of her sanskaars. The first duty of a queen is to produce an heir for her husband's kingdom, and this was dinned into their heads from childhood. Jodha neatly avoids this primary obligation, but she has no hesitation in taking expensive gifts for her whole family, right up to the Ratanpur fort, from the Mughals, on the basis of her being Jalal's begum, though she proclaims constantly that she hates him. Talk of selective rights and obligations! If she had had a saas who reminded her daily of the need for her to produce an heir in short order, Jodha would have soon understood that marriage is not a one way street.

To come back to this latest episode, I knew that Jodha thinks, or rather thought, the very worst of Jalal, but today's was much more degrading stuff than she had ever said to him thus far. That remark about Jalal wanting to have an immediate fling with that baandi left a very bad taste in the mouth. It showed a total lack of refinement in her; I would not have believed it possible that a high born princess could talk like this, no matter what the circumstances, and no matter what the provocation. No wonder that when she made that crass remark , Jalal's face twisted in sudden disgust. Rajat was superb then.
Bakshi Banu's treachery would be a very painful blow to Jalal, for though she was only his stepsister, he loved her dearly. She actually tells Jalal she loves Sharifuddin so much and that she does not want to lose him; as you noted, talk of the beaten woman syndrome! She is proof positive of the saying that the worst criminals are not those who are evil, but those who are weak.

I do not see where it is said that Jalal has forgiven Sharifuddin for the murder of the hakima. All he does is to drop the idea of beheading him personally at once, which was in any case not possible, and he has every intention of catching him later. Whether he will execute him, with Bakshi Banu pleading for his life and Jodha, with Hamida and the rest of the Teen Devian as a supporting chorus, pleading for Bakshi Banu, I expect they will both be let off with a banishment.

Nor do I see why Jodha should become a laughing stock once the truth is known. There would be sympathy, but why would anyone jeer at her?

I loved the way Jalal left the jashn and came out to comfort Ruqaiya, for he knows exactly how she would be feeling; her pain and his pain are the same.

The Jodha-Ruqaiya interaction was a pleasant change from their past exchanges, but this is an exception; I do not think they will ever get on together, not to speak of becoming friends.

If today's precap was any indication, Ruqaiya will try hard to get Jalal back, and on a different plane. But that will very likely not work at all, for Jalal sees his bond with his Gatti as one of lifelong friendship and solidarity, not of anything emotional or tender. The hardest thing of all is to move from friendship to love, and if this shift is one-sided, it creates huge problems.
An orderly, civilized menage a trois ( a household of three ) exists only in the imagination. Life does not settle down into neat compartments, least of all when it comes to love. I do not see it happening here either. To answer a question often asked here, yes, a man can love two women, but in different ways. The question is not that. It rather is whether the two women can live contentedly in their separate compartments, and here I am not referring only to Ruqaiya, but to Jodha as well, once she really falls in love with Jalal.

Well, all this lies on the lap of, not the gods, but the CVs. I am sure that the end result will be melodramatic and unsubtle, not plausible, or logical, or intelligent. Once one accepts that, the rest becomes easier to bear!Wink

Shyamala

Thanks for your likes and detailed comment Shyamala. I couldn't agree more with you about Jalal's tolerance for Jodha's behavior and the things that he has done for her/family. Her constant tanas about ratri vyatit are disgusting and getting worse day by day. Everytime I feel its end of those dialogs, they show Jodha stoop lower. The only thing against Jalal is that he has many begums and women. Well, that was normal in those days and I would only say that he still shows most respect to all them. This was confirmed by Jodha's priya ammijaan on day one, wish she believed her atleast on this matter. She can say no to physical relationsjip (excuse her as her mom did not teach her abot her first kartavya about giving waris) without making so much fuss. Jalal only attempted to come close to her once, all the other times it has just been Jodha trying to attack him with these cheap remarks even before he touches her - just pathetic.

Yep, we will see a more demanding and possesive Ruqu for sure. But, I am pretty sure we will see an even more clever Jalal. He knows how to handle Ruqu and her temper. If he wants Jodha's company, no one can stop him - not even Jodha. Ruqu is certainly in for lot more pain. Its going to be an interesting love triangle for sure, you are right CVs can take it anyway they want. But, I do hope they keep these regular soap formulas (MC, pregnancy) out of a historic show - I am so done with them.

"If you have integrity, nothing else matters. If you don't have integrity, nothing else matters."

Jodha has it and nothing else matters !⭐️👏

Jodha is graciousness personified in stopping Ruqs from tasting her milk...stating that her non-existent child would be like Ruq's own ⭐️

Ruqaiyya will never be able to reconcile to the fact that she cannot be MUZ...she thinks of Jodha as just a " zariya" for her Jalal to get the child he covets 😲 Well she just has to wait till the precap 😆

Salima praising Jalal for being exceptional...for what ? 😲 They are the only ones aware of the truth and after hakim's murder, Jalal has to take some action...if not for Jodha, then at least for the innocent who was murdered...completely flummoxed with her praise 😕

Agra is a quicksand and Jalal is used to traversing it but Jodha... girl you need to learn quick or they will pull you under for sure !

Could not understand most of angry words of Jalal to BB ...not very clear😕... but BB sure sang in a hurry today 😡 To play with BhabhiJaan's honor was just a game for her...she who loves her husband so much that she would plead for his life 😡 Chhee !!

Precap:

Character is doing the right thing when nobody's looking !

Ruqaiyya back to plotting to get Jalal...to be MUZ !

My advice to Jalal would be to go back to Ruqs...at least Jodha would be safe from deceit and treachery for sometime and be at peace...and Jalal can reflect on his true feelings for Ruqs.

Jodha feeling guilty for something she is not guilty of ! 🤗

Jalal's insaaf for BB ...hmmm.. will be interesting.

Why do I feel that either Jodha will be asked to assign BB's punishment where she will spare her or she will ask Jalal to spare her anyway.😕

Jodha has integrity to everyone but Jalal. It does matter that she uses such bitchy comments about her own husband repeatedly.

Jodha is only emotional and not smart like salima or Ruqu. That milk could have been made by any bandhi and could have caused Ruqu to get in trouble just like she did in the past. I understand her emotions, but she shows them to everyone that DONT deserve it but NOT to Jalal who deserves it the most.

OMG, I cant believe I have to explain this one - let me try. Jalal went thru exact same crisis that Jodha did. He felt betrayal by Jodha and had to take congrats of people for nothing, participate in Jashn. Ofcourse Jodha had reasons to doubt him, but did she ever question how come a person who fulfills every promise just broke this one - never! Jalal on the other hand with so much pain still decided to be patient and give Jodha the benefit of doubt. He reaches out to Salima for help. In the meantime takes all the blame that was put on Jodha and falls in front of everyones eyes. He is tensed about who is doing all this, knows that Hakim has been killed, knows that the Jashn is happening for no reason, but has to pretend and be happy. If this is not called being a shenshah and great human being, I dont know what is?

Unfortunately in those times a king had many wives. But Jalal respected each one of them and this was confirmed even by his mom. Its their right then to decide where they want to spend their night. I also wish that Jalal stops showing interest in Jodha, not because he will break her heart but because the current Jodha tends to break Jalal's heart repeatedly. She literally asked him to die elsewhere in Sukanya's wedding. So, I hope also that he shows no interest in Jodha. Atleast he shows steady progress in understanding people and changing his attitude. Unlike Jodha who is stuck like a broken record on GHRINA.

Jodha should not feel guilty - really? She called Jalal a cheapo who jumps from one rani to dasi to rani for their body. She called Jalal a person who broke the promise of not touching her, which BTW was never given. She called Jalal worse than pashu who takes advantage of people's unconsciousness. Yes, she did it because she did not know the truth. But now that she knows, shouldnt she feel bad that here Jalal was trying to protect her and all she could do was blame him. Never doubted her judgement that she could be wrong when Jalal proved so many other times that he keeps his promises and respects her.

Hope my message didnt sound so harsh, but I wasnt happy with your take on Jodha.

Meghna,
Took my time to read at leisure and respond. Very well written..
A nite out again to sort all misunderstandings...
Has been on my wish list ever since I heard about the track. I want to see a lengthy after-effect where the two deepen their relationship
Jodha yet again jumping to conclusion abt the bandi was indeed not right, but at this point she considers herself a victim and views anything Jalaal does with distaste. So I decided to not pay too much attention to it..
The statement to BB by jalaal abt now trusting Jodha made me raise my eyebrow...Lets see
So glad the track is over and we can see how it has impacted JJ equation.
Ruqu -Man she drives me nuts..Every time I think she aint all that bad, she does something otherwise...
One thing am noticing is Jalaal in the past few days have caressed/kissed/held Salima, Ruqqu, BB...
Will we see that extend to Jodha in the coming days??? Jodha is remose-filled , Jalaal is a bit low, lets see whats in store tomorrow...Its gonna be interesting

Excellent analysis by everyone. Definitely best episode to date because of its speed and emotional impact. Best scene was jalal and bakshi. Focusing on that scene some interesting points mentioned by jalal. The start to that scene was so sad the emotional kiss set the tone of wats to come. The first point stated by jalal that he didn't want justification and he didn't have a heart are both the biggest contradiction of his own self. Because not only does he later demand justification but the very fact this caused him so much pain proves that he has a heart. His concern for jodha, his own plight, his shame at his sister, his grief at his dream of being a father turned into a political joke all these points were conveyed and acted with a lot of conviction. I found jalal stated another interesting fact about himself he praised god that gave him strength to not kill jodha right away in anger. Now we all kept wondering what held jalal back and he admits it today that it wasn't his underlying trust for jodha but a divine force was holding him back from going all Godzilla on jodha, it was telling of how he perceived his own strength/weakness.
And last but not least he chose to tell jodha the truth first before hunting down shariffudin. I am glad he walked out in the end. He has had too much of her and this whole business. Jalal came a full circle in this arc, it started out over shock and anger at her pregnancy, unpardonable grief at being betrayed, cruelty extended from his raging emotions, disbelief and doubt on facts facing him, strength to face his duties as emperor despite inner turmoil, reaching out for counsel to the right people showing immense wisdom, proclamation of his own subconscious allowing for his jet speed transition from trust to investigative mode, and in the end facing betrayal again. The journey for his character in this track started in betrayal and ends in betrayal, pain is still there only the perpetrator has changed. If any good came out of this arc is that we saw how jalal emotions varied and how he acted thru all of them.

WOW Annie, just WOW 👏! You should start writing reviews as you have stated Jalal's journey through this track very aptly. It did start and end with betrayal. Jodha although cruel was right about him being always alone. He was so done with Jodha when she started her infinite to the power of infinite bhashan about treating BB like dasi. I was so glad he walked away after giving her that look that you are not the only one who suffered or were honest. He infact suffered more because even in the end he came to know that two people he trusted BB/SD both betrayed him.
