Many Adkha fans (myself included) have started feeling a pull towards this character. While the manner in which she left behind a wailing Shehenshah after Bairam Khan's death still brings about a sour feeling, she has done a lot of things lately that has brought about a feeling of pleasant surprise. I sincerely hope the CVs keep it up because I have always reiterated that Jodha's character should have to shine of her own accord and not bounce off Ruqaiyya's. Also, grey characters are always more interesting to watch. TV serials have painted people in shades or pure white or pure black too long!Besides,
'Jalal had no other decent + beautiful human being to turn to and that's why he fell for Jodha' sounds less 'epic' than'Jalal had many decent beautiful women around him and YET he fell for Jodha'JODHAAnu (Prejudiced) made a good point - the betrayal she must have felt is nothing compared the betrayal he must be feeling. I don't know if a Begum could have questioned her husband in that manner if such a thing had even happened then - but, we know that this is a contemporary take on 16th century historical! Besides, a passionate war-of-words between Jodha and Jalal is better than having to listen to her cry in front of Kanha and Moti - at least, makes for more interesting viewing. Some didn't like the fact that Jodha stopped Ruqaiyya's exit from Jalal's chamber and questioned Jalal in front of Ruqaiyya. However, I'm not too concerned about it - after all, when Ruqaiyya can hound Jalal with sexual interrogations claiming to be the harem warden - claiming to be his best-friend, then I don't see why Jodha interrogating Jalal in front of Ruqaiyya is an issue!Besides, Jodha had vouched for Shehenshah's integrity in front of Ruqaiyya with all pride just a couple of episodes ago - I'm sure this is her way of getting back at Jalal and clearing her name in front of Ruqaiyya too!JALALI am in absolute accordance with your take on Jalal. Again, I saw a few posts praising his silence - that he's been very dignified and behaved very honourably (be it in Ruqaiyya's presence or in the court) in order to preserve Jodha's honour. This definitely can't be the case - we could see what he felt like doing to Jo from the punishment he meted her 'look-alike' hallucinated figure! He's purely keeping silent so he can find out the culprit (by himself) and then punish them both. Its such a major dart on his ego and pride if his wife had indeed committed what he fears her of committing! He CANNOT afford for this scandal to come out - its an outright ridicule of his power, a mar on his manhood! He might stumble upon some reality/flashback/brain-wave today and decide to see who's behind it all - but, at this point he feels nothing genial for Jodha. Yes, he's incredibly hurt by her after all that's happened. However, his heart is filled with absolute rage now.
If I am strangely apathetic towards what both Jodha AND Jalal are going through -it possibly because1) There was NO 'dhokha' in the first place2) This track doesn't justify any aspect of that era in historyTHE TRACKI have not come across ONE instance of suspected adultery in Indian historicals amongst well-known royal women - especially amongst the larger/more powerful households! As a Rajasthani daughter, Jodha would have been taught to sacrifice her life in the fire, before she would even cast a glimpse upon a man who wasn't her husband. Even little girls who had child marriages and lost their husbands (even before their relationship blossomed) were compelled to commit Jauhar. In such tradition, bringing about such a storyline makes NO sense.I can understand if slaves and women who had NO connection with the Shehenshah resorted to such tactics, but to bring upon such a taint on the name of an actual queen Hira Kunwari for the sake of a story really pains me!Besides, as you mentioned - the maths doesn't add up and nor does the science!😆Crass tracks like the push up scenes and body-heat etc - though didn't really sit well with a historical - didn't raise fingers upon the 'wifely' character of Hira Kunwari! They can be brushed-off as unrealistic tiffs between husband and wife. However, this is something else.Kamal sent me a pm about what she'd garnered about this princess in historical chronicles. How impressed I was when I read it all. This track is a blotch on her name - its doesn't feel right to be bringing out adultery suspicions/investigations for the sake of entertainment on this historical figure.I don't know what Emeperor Akbar would have done if he suspected one of his queens as being an adulteress. After all, he did bury alive his slave girl who had an affair with his son. So, I'm guessing the punishment for his wife would have been infinitely worse. Hopefully they wrap this track up soon - very indecent and petty just like the body-heat one!

Hi Shyamala, Thanx for your post..Keeps me updated, coz I have stopped seeing these episodes. I am sure they will get huge TRPs, but I don't want to be part of the viewership that encourages convoluted tracks to build the so called trust btw lead characters!
Can't comment much on the epi, but your take is purrfect! Frankly I have always liked Ruquaiya. I have not seen Smiley's version( many in forum seem to have liked her), but I like the present one too. I don't see Anything worng in her wanting power. Who doesn't? In thAt sense, I would say there is a Ruquaiya in each of us. We all admire the Darcy's, and Arnav Singh Raizadas and currently Jalal, because they wield so much power, besides of course being good looking, full of integrity et c etc..But power is the factor that draws us to them..So well, assuming Ruquaiya does very much mean all the power dialogues, I don't think it's wrong. at least she is honest enough to admit to herself and also Jalal...It's only misuse of the power that is bad, and so far she is not shown to do it. And after yest, as yu have updated, she has shown how fair she can be! No hatred can make her stoop low!Rajat is a brilliant actor and is actually pulling the JA serial...As for Jodha, first they gave her such snooty dialogues and now they feel they can redeem her only be making her suffer😕Wonder how the Rajputs are taking this!
I absolutely do not like this track . But glad MA is digging her grave further and ruqs is out of this
Poor Jo , today was awful . And jalal :(. betrayed his sister
Edit : I really wish jalal hadn't voiced his suspicions .i know it's not realistic but He should have found another way . Or I wish that he had . It's demeaning for a woman to hear that and it lessens him as a man and reduces his imperial aura when he voices those suspicions .
He could have questioned those around her and the guards discreetly if at all he was suspicious . He should not have voiced it .
