Jalal to kahien nahi hai list mein😭

I take it its in ascending order..cos her pride/touch-me-not is definitely more imp than anything else...😆
And yes Ammijaan is pretty much second in the list!😕

***Actually Alakh, we say that Ruq's loves herself, but the truth is Jodha loves herself too much:), even though she left the decision to Ammijaan, she was sure within that Ammijaan will not force her to convert, not even once she said (atleast for the sake of Ammijaan, whom she calls her own) that I am ok to convert for the Sultanate's wellbeing

***Lashy, here it is not about she would be converted, but there was no concern from her side when they said that he needs to step down from his throne. For her all it mattered was her religion shouldn't be affected, we agree, but there was one point Ruq's pointed which was very apt, while getting married, we as Hindus make all promises about giving "saath" to husband in any situation, but she didn't stand by him or atleast after the issue was sorted, she did not even think that he was ready to give up the throne, but all I was concerned is about my religion belief getting affected.

Oh...but, that's a COMPLETELY different debate..I was only talking about Jalal's illogical decision here...
Everyone here knows what I feel about JO..😊 Where Jalal (and only Jalal) is concerned, in the past 2 months, Jo's character had been depicted as as ungrateful as she can be..😊 That's why I feel Jodha is a very un-real character...
How much ever you're in love, or not in love, some certain things cannot be changed and one is a person's basic nature! Her behaviour with Jalal is totally in the opposite direction of EVERYTHING (genial and good) she stands for when she's with others...

***Jalal's illogical decision was completely to impress the audience, here I totally agree with you, like you said, here Ekta has presented Jalal with grey shades which is commendable, when compared to Movie, where Jala is a total sweetheart without any "daag" she cannot make him a villian completely, afterall he is the hero of the show, Indian audience can accept Anti heroes, but not villians.

Lashy dear, as for @red, you are undoubtedly correct. But then, why the devil are we wasting so much time commenting in this serial at all, when we too could simply look at Jalal, cry over Jodha and applaud the abdication offer and every other idiocy in the script?

There is no need at all for anyone to argue the CVs' case for them. I am not saying that the CVs can be expected to have so much finesse as to present this conundrum in a plausible way and still get the same end result. But I am not an Ajmal Khan Road housewife. Nor, I presume, are you. If we were, we would not be here, and the question would not arise at all. We are thinking people and we have to think. What I have said here is self evident to even the most elementary student of of history. So why can the forum not pay some attention to these ramifications?

If we need not, because of all the very valid arguments you have advanced, by the same token, while I do not know about you, why am I, for one, spending so many non-renewable hours of my life, already in its waning phase, writing long posts here, reading the posts of others, and commenting on them? It would be meaningless. Actually, you are dead right and it IS meaningless. Which is why I had wanted to drop out last month, something I should have done, but did not, solely because of my affection for you and a few others who made me stay on.

I have, however much longer I stay or do not stay here, no intention of pandering to the multitudes and tailoring my posts to fit their mindset. If I cannot find anything worthwhile to write about, I shall not.

Please do not think that I am upset about anything, I am not, and in any case I could never be the least bit upset with you. But when you advise " one and all to briefly replace the historical/political-fan part of oneself and put on the cap as that of a general viewer to see why or how this seemingly illogical twist might have even be presented on screen!", and then, by inference, shrug our shoulders and accept it, you also have to understand that in that case, the likes of yours truly have no reason to be here at all.

Lovely political take on the entire episode aunty...No doubt a lot of thought, research and experience has gone into it!

However, my only explanation (that I also posted in your other thread) would involve advising one and all to briefly replace the historical/political-fan part of oneself and put on the cap as that of a general viewer to see why or how this seemingly illogical twist might have even be presented on screen!

My thoughts on it -

Romantic angle to please the viewers -
Firstly, the general public (there will ALWAYS be exceptions) would not have this much of in-depth knowledge/interest or even time to put in such thought/research as us while watching an episode of Jodha Akbar. My expectation of how the general households who view this serial is that of moms who're busy completing pre-post dinner chores, girls silently whistling at the handsome Jalal and boys waiting for the next action sequence (and a few with a silent crush on PS maybe???)

The one thought that'd remain in their minds after watching it all (Again there'll always be exceptions)'Akbar kitnaa mahaan thaa...zubaan ke liye apnaa takth tak chodne ko tayyaar thaa!'

Over time, a lot of our heroes (mythological and historical) have changed characteristics/faces to incite interest in viewers - especially so in mass-driven evening serials. Therefore, I doubt the Balajis have taken it upon them to represent Jalal just as he was. (I'm still quite surprised she has even depicted him this grey - a truer version than what was in the movie definitely!)

Jalal ready to abdicate his throne for the sake of his pyaari Begum (which would NEVER HAVE happened in history unless he was love-sick like Edward VIII - which he was not!) is basically just to please audiences of our Indianized drama who love this 'Praan jaaye par Vachan na jaaye' clause! [Even now, we have even Jalal-sympathizers state the 'zinda jalaa denge' phrase as his lowest point - when I cannot think why Akbar himself would have acted any differently had such an incident happened in his palace! Why, take the durg issue for instance - When he was not ready to give up his durg for Jo's sister, there was a lot of hushed displeasure even amongst us lot. The moment he gave it up (also enhanced by the manner in which he did) I could sense a lot of cheer and celebration! Not many were of the mindset that Akbar would NEVER have gone around giving up such strategic locations for the sake of a Begum's sister. Many people like Sukanya would have ended up being collateral damage in the cruel world of politics - Empires can function only if emperors continued seeing the bigger picture. YET, this apathetically mundane reality would not be something that would make for interesting viewing. Therefore, this twist in the Durg issue was brought in purely as a people-pleaser.]

Jalal's standing by a Vachan he gave to Jo is like something that never makes logical sense, yet tugs our viewer's heart strings - something that lets you leave the cinema or switch off the TV with a smile on your face and not delve upon the hows or whys of it! It's all not very different from how SRK and Imran Khan would run all the way to the flight hangar to stop a taking-off plane so they could propose - thus making the movie a superhit!
Something like how the business magnates of today's Tele-world give up their businesses and appointments to run out into the rain so they can propose to their girlfriend - thus making the segments a superhit!
Had this been a documentary of Jalal with his Begums in the background, this wouldn't have happened. However, this is a fictional romantic drama - so Jalal and Jodha's relationship will continue to be at the forefront - with various twists/angles (factual/fictional/logical/illogical) etc brought in to keep the general audience hooked! 😊

The disclaimer angle to curb the protesters -
I'm guessing Ekta didn't want to take too much risk with Jalal directly subduing the Mughal clerics (what with the serial already having seen so many protests from Najmullah etc. Why, basic movies with these kind of comparatively subdued religious themes seem to be facing problems..with this being a long-running serial, she's NOT going to take that kind of risk!)
Yet, we do know that Jalal was a man who went against fanatics or people who tried to force him. So in order to show a balance, she ended up showing an initial brief segment where he states he'd have beheaded them..and then later stays quiet and finally subdues!
(I actually was quite shocked when I heard him say he'd have beheaded the Maulvis! Long time since I've heard dialogues like this - what with modern TV having become very politically 'correct' all the time!)

This ^^^ is the only logical explanation I can give for this mis-representation of Jalal's policies. By the way, this is not the only issue in which I feel the makers haven't shown a strong pro/anti stance of Jalal.

Similarly, had they shown Jo convert (like some chronicles state) it could have led to Karni Sena protests and me thinks they wouldn't show that bit either! She's going to remain our Jo Begum

Wonderful Post Shyamala...!!
I wont comment anything on the episode; I learnt my lesson hard way after wasting so much time watching 100 episodes, better I don't fool myself any more watching this show "Jodha", (I don't think name is JA).

Even kids take some time to patch up, here everything is instant, inconsistent and logic is far from my understanding. The possible inference I could make is "It should happen this way as CV's want this to happen"

The only saving grace of the episode is Rajat, this boy is indeed a genius; the nuances he bring into the frame are spectacular

aunty i love i love u i love u...
actually the cvs. n audience both dont realizing what is mughal empmire...till than i watched historical shows,...are raja's of single states...
this is such a huge empire...

emperor first vachan is towards his nation his people.. he just cant step back because of his one promise to his one wife...what if his two promises contradict to each other...there must be middle way...

i remember at MC time...when jalal was ready to give death penalty to jo n her brother.s.. HB ..maulvi sahib n atga was convincing jalal to re think ...he glanced towards ruqayaa and after her positive nod he agreed to give 10 days time to them...at that time when that MC happen to non othr thn ruqayya herself...there was uproar on forum...what type of king is he.. looking to his wife to make decision ... even why he is updating ruqayya about the progress of investigation about her own miscarriage was very very unpleasant to forum wasis and very dangerous for shahnsha's power authority and honor
so i know if he would be given such honor of words to ruqayya...every one waswould be hell furious..
.
n the news service of this show is just kamal...i wonder what technology they use...whehter news of recapturing of ratanpur fort...message of HB to shaikh chisti n his re message at very next day to jalal right from ajmer sharif

i wonder in today ..did he think about his jodha begum's thinking about mughals ...will he step back from his palnning to take rajputana under mughal flag for sake of jodha begum..because it is obvious she will not like this abduction of rajwanshi's as she is still waiting for some messiha who will safe them from mughal...and ...exactly...what type of sarparasti is this by which amer n dhawal gar r now under mughal empire...did they have mughal falg... with their own flags...i didnt find that he has any of his claim on amer or own amer awam as their high king... raja bharmal mostly calls him jawai sa...they didnt give him even special treatment befit for damad forget about their king...not they observe any royal protocols of mughal court..RB..even threatened jalal that he can also raise his sword to him...didnt he do ...not because he is their king but only because he is his jawai...jalal told ruqayya before leaving for amer... now the dhawal garr is in his sarparasti...what type of sarparasti is this... did u find a single hint from ratty king n his son's style that now they r raja of their state under kingship of jalal...

every one is cheering...on yesterday epi... i know jodha was good...but dont you think jalal the emperor of hindsutan was walking on circus rope...
zara si jodha begum ki marzi k khilaf baat hui idhar unka mood bigra...

...
jalal always have to check his tongue..his gesture while talking infront of his jodha begum...
when he was praising food.. i mean why he had to repeat forcefully by allha ki kasam khana waqai bohat lazeez hae...

secondly can u explain...why jiji anga n gulbadan begum who is first sister of hindal mirza n real phuphi of ruqayya are so interested in jodha jalal love story and why jiji anga said... after humayun nama u should be ready to write story of jodha jalal... is gulbadan begun writing story of humayu n hamida bano aur jodha is equally rulling mughal empire like/with jalal...

and once again ...thanks u n i love u... this chandni ki chamak itni thi jalal ne bilkul hi apne hawas kho deye...na poor soul ko yah yaad raha k ose chandi mae jheel ki saer kitni pasand hae na yah yaad raha dhoobte sooraj ki lallli aor khoobsurti ko enjoy karne ka uske pass time bhi hae...aur shauq bhi
