hmm...
I was thinking about this very point the other day. I know many of us are disappointed at her for being rude towards Jalal. Specially the amer's trip should have changed her and at least her tone towards Jalal should have changed.

So thinking for a while I started understanding why she is behaving that way. IN the episode where she praises prithviraj chauhan , we can clearly see the reason. The hatred for Mughals.

even after being married to one, what has been embedded in hearts and minds does not change in matter of months. It has been taught to her that Mughals are ruthless and are their enemies. Her father, brothers, fiance everyone single person around her taught just one thing to her... she learnt to fight from the age 4 for one and only one purpose. Defeat the Mughals.

When a person has been brainwashed this much, then its extremely difficult for them to change loyalties no matter how the circumstances has changed from the other side.

So even though Jalal is going out of his way to be nice to Jodha, she just responds back by rudeness. But we did see some change in her .. and that was due to the inner struggle between her personality and what she has been taught.

She unlike Ruqaiyyah does not look down upon others nor is power hungry.
The only thing she does wrong is hating Jalal. Her reasons were very right in the beginning but now its changing so the inner struggle is going on and she is not able to weigh out and respond accordingly. Even though she wants to thank or apologize her immense pride of being a rajvanshi is coming in between her and Jalal.

She def. Needed a ice breaker and in my opinion that happened yesterday when Jalal, who I am sure did not become intimate with her. She thinks otherwise and this is where she will understand the true genuine nature of Jalal. That he is the man of his words.

The biggest problem between Jalal and Jodha is they do not trust each other.Only and Only when they start trusting each other will their egos subside. Jalal being the King is more prone to see things from others POV as thats important quality for a king.
But Jodha , does not need to do that. She has been the princess who can just have her opinion and not care about what others think. So she is holding on to her false pride of being rajvanshi and hating mughals rather than seeing things from Jalal's POV.

But the time will sure approach now.

ANywayzz for me, I think the tag line is other way around. Its not Jodha who made Jalal a good man from cruel emperor but its Jalal who is making Jodha understand that there is a world other than Rajvansh that is vast and she needs to learn to respect all the cultures.

:) I am 30 with 3 kids hehee...

I am thinking from Jodha's pov and I think since she has not lost anything, she will not have the maturity to think like a married woman. Then of course there is age .. and inbred hatred of Mughals. Its a complicated situation for Jodha.

with Ruqaiyyah, shei is power hungry thats been established and perhaps she is the way .. cause she lost everything as you pointed out. She needs to be on the top to not loose anymore.

I am not saying that, Jodha is better than Ruqaiiyah, No.
I am saying that I understand where Jodha is coming from and her knack of disrespect towards Jalal on purpose is cause of what shez been taught all her life.

The evolution of jodha's character is very slow. It is not that Mughal were the first invaders. India had been ruthlessly plundered by invaders and jodha's clan being a warrior one has always been at loggerheads with them. The assumption that Mughals fall in the same category gets weight from the past several hundred years of history between the rajvanshis and invaders. I will not exactly call it a brainwash because except Akbar most of the invaders have lived upto their reputation of being absolutely ruthless.

You have rightly said in your reply that we can not and should not compare Ruqaiya and jodha. Just as jodha has the advantage of being brought up in a warm household, ruqaiya too had not to leave the confines of her family and adjust in a new household forget about a different culture all togther. Jodha is now out of her comfort zone and pushed against the wall, ruqaiya is yet to be drawn out of her comfort zone. I don't think we can compare them as of now.

It is not her pride of being rajvanshi that holds her back. The tussle between jalal and jodha has long ago gone personal. I say so because jodha is extremely respectful to the elderly ladies, Salima begum, rahim, bakshi bano and even the likes of shareefuddin who held her brothers as hostages (ie until she discovered the truth). She doesn't disrespect anyone just because he or she is a Mughal. She respects everyone in her husband's household. The clash between jalal and jodha is because jalal is crushing her preconceived notions about him. More than shehensha she is finding it difficuilt to deal with the man he is. I think she should be left on her own for a good time. The woman needs to introspect as soon as possible.

The tag line of the show is flawed. I still believe jalal is miles away from becoming Akbar. The transition will happen in its sweet time and not because jodha will be the head master of student Jalal. The makers have cleverly made jodha the trigger behind many of the commendable actions of jalal. I emphasise jodha is just the TRIGGER.

Thank you.

Suchi I am not too inclined to trust Jalal...I have yet to see him how he treats Jodhu in Agra? Will he let her face Ruku and Ma alone...Ruku is on her homeground , among her family and her religion...Can you realise the pain of being asked to change religion? Can anyone imagine what Jodha must be going through?
And it is not Jodha's fault...She never asked Jallu to marry her and she never asked Jallu to come to temple with her...but she is the one who is paying price...

It is easy for Jallu to be nice to her as nothing has changed for him...
And what has Jodha taken from this marriage? Actually nothing...

Jallu got Jodha and also Amer...BM is just the subordinate...
All her brothers are kept in prison and yet save Jallu's life...and to hide his mistake Jallu gives mansabdari...to BD...

Jallu killed Sukanya's first fiancee as Jallu wanted hindus to kill hindus...
Now to hide that guilt Jallu gifted fort...

So it is not Jodha who is taking anything from her but actually it is that horrible Ruku who is power hungry and just uses Jalal ...but never loved him...
Till now Jallu has not given a single reason to Jodha to love him and has not done anything for her or her family...All his actions have been guilt ridden...
