Lashy my dear,

That this post is beautifully done, both in detail and in tone, is by now a given. As both of us seem to be pretty much on the same wavelength as to the point up to which we liked this episode, I can safely voice my candid assessment of it here. The rest of the forum seems to be in a body heat situation , 99% of them, judging from the number of posts with those 2 words in the title, so they can hardly be expected to see beyond that.

Which is , apart from agreeing with your assessment of what Jalal would NOT have done, that after the conversation between Jalal and Jodha about why the Ratanpur fort is so important to him, plus the first few minutes in the tent, the whole episode went steadily downhill. It was artifcially and stagily constructed - why the devil did he not drag the idiotic female in by main force and barbecue her in front of the fire? Then dumped her on the bed, flung all the bedclothes on her and left her to her own devices?

But for Rajat's star power and exceptional mastery of facial nuance - the way he looks at the sleeping Jodha is like an illustration for aching tenderness - it would have sunk into something from a 1970s film about a couple married only in name (usually because the wife was expecting a child outside marriage, and had been rescued from a suicide attempt). Poor Paridhi, she has no chance at all to do anything worthwhile. She ought to go on a hunger strike against such scenarios.

And all this rubbish just when I had thought that at last, after the noble generosity that Jalal had displayed, there might have been some move towards friendship and some intelligent conversation between them.

But no, there is not a single good line written for Jodha. She has no word of appreciation for what Jalal had just done. She has no empathy for what he tells her about his boyhood at Ratanpur, not a single interested comment, or question about how he felt then. Nothing. She bustles is, asks her stereotypical questions, like a chartered accountant rather than a woman whose sister's wedded life has just been saved by this husband of hers, and then sashays out .

Then, in the khema, she behaves as if she was one of the 1960s heroines and he was Pran. If he had actually grabbed her and declared that he had the haq to claim his conjugal rights, it would have been interesting to see how she would have reacted. After all, she is his wife, and she cannot refuse him that even in current law if he is so minded. There is a legal provision for the restoration, or claiming of conjugal rights, with sentences for non-compliance with the court's ruling. A wife can sue for divorce, but while she is married, she cannot say that she will not let her husband touch her. And this is the 16th century!

That Jalal does not, and will not, do any such thing is a matter of his indulgence, not of her right. I find her constant bridling and wild accusations very boring and tiresome. I would be willing to bet that if he had enforced his rights, it might have ended up like that famous scene in Gone with the Wind when Rhett picks Scarlett up and carries her up the stairs, leaving the rest to the imagination of the 1940s readers. Remember Scarlett's reaction the next morning? Jodha might well have felt the same.

Now I suppose, with the CVs having, with this dismal half episode. proved Newton's law of gravity by demonstrating that what had gone up - the quality of the last 2 episodes - had necessarily to come down, we will have to wait for weeks before seeing anything halfway interesting. Tomorrow bids fair to be even worse; Jodha has gone back to her pre-marriage looks, for one thing.

BODY-WARMTH๐Ÿ˜† as the forum has nicknamed it
A DDLJ scene parallel, is it? Proper filmy stuff this...๐Ÿ˜› There was nothing of this body warmth nonsense in DDLJ, Simran was just sozzled. Come to think of it, it might do Jodha some good to get pickled, good and proper! I'm quietly confident Jalal hasn't done anything and is only teasing her. Rajat's expressions in the precap were to die for! ๐Ÿ˜†

Though I don't know what to say of this strange only-husband-can-treat-wife solution which I've seen nowhere apart from our Indian cinema/TV๐Ÿ˜†, I must say that the tenderness he depicted on his face when caressing her forehead was swoon-worthy!๐Ÿ˜ณNo, this is often done for those exposed to acute cold, chilled to the bone and in danger of collapsing. The husband part is because it obviously cannot, unlike mouth to mouth ressuscitation, be done with all your clothes on.

I am very very impressed about the first half of the episode - right up to the Ghanghaur flash backs!๐Ÿ˜ƒ

I don't know if the CVs could have handled it any better than this!๐Ÿ‘]

Well said ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

I realize there were only purdahs then, but Mothi and Resham randomly walking in and out of Shehenshah's tent was funny too!

Seriously how do the guards stationed outside not see random people peeking into the tent??๐Ÿค” Motibai can be excused because she had gone to crush the lep and didnt know everyone else had left.

I hope there hasn't been any "body-warmth" I dont want SR with unconscious Jodha ๐Ÿ˜ญ That would be so disappointing ๐Ÿ˜’

2 things lashy kanna,
1. Body heat
As much as its unnecessary am thinking they are using this as a way for Jodha to start realizing that the guy is far more decent than her thinking is...There was a situation that he could've used to exercise his conjugal rights. Helps building the trust
2.Jodha's attitude
I think a lot of what Ruqqu/Maham said about Jalaal tossing out a begum once he's "checked her out"... is affecting the way in which she reacts when he comes close. She wants to first establish a relationship where they know each other better,,,,, which also explains Maham's happiness over the body heat plan..
One thing I don't understand is body heat is just a theraphy, not necessarify for the hubby to provide and why they reacted as if they are gonna have a suhaag raatConfused
RT brings out the fangirl in me๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†
By the waaay Hi5! We got Jalaal recollecting the ganganur episode! if not completely, atleast bits of it! Looks like we do need to putup a wishlist sticky!

Today we actually saw a tender Jalal, every time he looked at Jodha his eyes had the tenderness in them and ofcourse probably his first monologue about why Jo's opinions and reactions matter to him๐Ÿ˜ณ
He was tenderness incarnate... no mischief (which I love too) no sly dialogues (which I love too)

So today Im quite relieved to see that it's not fake at all,it's just that he doesn't know the feeling that's growing in his heart..Also he spoke about the importance the fort held for him, without Jo asking..he wants her to know him..
Yess...its not fake...

Rajat and Paridhi looked extra beautiful to me today..Love them...
Yup..I know...

As for the heat thing,Im sure he wouldn't have got intimate at all..at the most I expect him holding her close that's it..maybe Moti might clear it later for Jo..My biggest hope after this is that Jo never again suspects Jalal..he has been a gentleman and I want her acknowledging it now..๐Ÿฅฑ
I want her to acknowledge something in that direction yaar...its getting tedious now...๐Ÿ˜•

P.S. The part where he was caressing her forehead in the end and his expression there..Can I love this guy anymore?? I really don't know๐Ÿ˜ณ This guy and his personaliy make me wish I were Jodha
OMG I know...I'd never be able to show so much care for a person who claimed to hate me so...๐Ÿ˜ญthis guy's an angel...

awww lashy is back to her episode discussion thread! ๐Ÿค— and finally an episode worth analyzing !!

I liked yesterday's and day-before's too...๐Ÿ˜ณ

I just love the Shahenshah side of Jalal when he is in charge of the situation and keeps everyone guessing about his next move!! I didn't expect Jala to gift back the fort to Suku! Is was by far the best and realistic solution to this track keeping everything in balance...Jalal's shaan...Amer's maan and Ja - Jo relationship equation.
It was LOVELY๐Ÿ˜›

I am glad that Jo directly goes to Jalal when she is in doubt about his decisions...it benefits us the viewers. Hearing from the Shahenshah on his intention is much much good than knowing it from MA! Secondly, we get more AkDha scenes.
Yup...๐Ÿ˜ƒ

How i LOVED just LOVED the caring Jalal...his hair blowing over his face when the tenderness on his face was to die for!! I lost count of how many times i have watched that scene! RT nailed it!!
I want put that scene in my siggy dabba just waiting for the prefect siggy!๐Ÿฅณ
Wow...I haven't seen you phangurling over RT before...beautiful...๐Ÿ˜›

what followed after this was disappointing! Jo - Ja got comfortable with each other and suddenly Jo is back to accusing Jalal for touching her! What exactly happened...her cheeks on his palm!! ๐Ÿฅบ
Her reaction was over the top and to make it any worse she storms outside to fall sick in the cold! ๐Ÿท height to foolishness!!!
Tell me about it *slaps forehead*

The editing of the scene was very bad...when Jalal came and when he left no idea and secondly how on earth did the guards allow her to walk out of her tent in this weather???
Grrr๐Ÿ˜ก

As expected Jo falls sick and the only cure in the 16th century is Body warmth!!!๐Ÿ˜’ like seriously??!!! this track AGAIN!!! cumon EK at least spare the great Akbar from such silly tracks! ๐Ÿ˜ก
She can't she just can't...๐Ÿ˜†

I didn't agree with Maham's scene it was all ok till AK showed up.
No comments..๐Ÿ˜ณ

And what exactly did Rukku come to know...so important that hoshyar had to wake her middle of the night???๐Ÿ˜• was it regarding the fort or Body warmth remedy!
LMAO Kai Resham already knowing about body warmth and waking Rus up is more than just extreme...๐Ÿคฃ in every way possible...I think its about the storm...

I know for certain that tomorrow we will get to see watch what always happens in such tracks
* the girl is miraculously cured from her near death situation by a mere body heat remedy
*Inspite of not been touched before she has to question the boy on the previous night events!!
*initial confusion and misunderstanding which could last for days or weeks depends on CVs
๐Ÿคฃ
๐Ÿคฃ You're amazing
Miss you here...๐Ÿ˜ญ

I am sure he will not do anything other than teasing her cause Jalaal finds it more exciting than winning a war. What about Ruquiya? I am wondering if she knows about another attack or is it something else?

Thanks dear..๐Ÿ˜ณ
I'm sure he wouldn't have done anything else too...
True @ bolded part!
Ruqs possibly came to know of storm...
thanks once again!๐Ÿ˜ƒ
