Tentative steps not entirely one-sided - towards overt caring and affection between Jalal and Jodha.

Yes...the CVs have left behind those poorly shot tent and boat ride scenes and have come a good way in bucking up after those 3-4 disjointed episodes. Actually, ever since the Kali Ma episode, there has been consistency (with a few loopholes, no doubt - but, which serial doesn't have them?)

They've provided some form of closure to quite a few areas - which many (if not most )serials are unable to provide today -the Kali ma Vachan, the green dress, the dress burning episode and even reminiscing the tiger incident through the story (though the green dress bit and the tiger incident does still have its own loopholes)

Yet, I must give it to them for picking up the pieces where they can and trying to make a beautiful end result out of it! It might not be a Tanjore masterpiece, but is a water colour painting at least!

- Jalal waiting, openly and without any pretence, for Jodha to come down. How many contemporary husbands would do this!

There are many chivalrous attributes in those days that are absent today. However, It works both ways and one might say there are many today that weren't present then too - I guess its all since preferences have changed😊

- Jodha stealing a look at her relaxed, smiling happy husband during the banjara dance. It is noteworthy that he is not then looking at her, so it is not a reaction on her part, but an initiative.

Since plenty have stated about the green dress scene, I haven't elaborated on that bit here. I'm looking beyond the calibre of ghagras used in the show (😆) and trying to delve purely on the scintillating expressions provided by RT and PS in that scene...if not wrong, RT covered at least 3 different ones and PS 3 different ones without so much as uttering a word...😃

- Most revealing of all, the sheer terror on Jodha's face as Jalal grapples with the rampaging elephant and , at one point, falls down. It is true that anyone would have been panic-stricken at the sight, as all are the onlookers, especially the women. But there is an edge to the blind fear in Jodha's face, as her breath is caught in her constricted throat, which is far deeper than the normal human reaction to another human being in mortal danger.Maybe, in those few instants, it was brought home to her what that man - not the Shahenshah - who was defying death to save the others in the pavilion, and also his beloved pet, meant to her, and what kind of void he would leave behind in her zehen were he to be killed in this dangerous enterprise.

Beautiful...how lovely to see that Jodha was worried...she might have been worried for a number of reasons - her sister's marriage, her Bapusa's palace, the life of her Ameris, the consequences of the incident etc etc...but, it was obvious that one of her prime worries was for the Shehenshah - unwittingly, but it was there! I don't know whether she has ever thought of him/worried for him beyond his Shehenshah tag, as she hasn't shown me enough proof in that matter. However, she DOES worry for his life as the Shehenshah and that much I'm certain of!😳 [Maybe, at this point - its somewhere in between...🤔]

Jalal would sure know his pal inside out and would need no back up for dealing with him.

I'd resigned myself to the MP helping Jalal bit, but am a much happier camper that Jalal managed it on his own - especially since the pet is his!

like Harsha Bhogle at an IPL match, and finally announcing, pontifically, that Jalal was a shreshtha yoddha.

I likened his commentary to Gavaskar in another thread..I see you've settled for Bhogle instead😆

Mansi had even cooked up an ingenious theory to fit in with the promo and yet keep Jodha free of blame .

The whole forum had cooked theories right, left and centre😆 the only theory that sounds true for now is the last minute script changes. I for one, do not think CVs (would spend money) and shoot extremely misleading promos...(slightly misleading is understood and the norm)...I think its last minute changes to the script that's been causing these uproars!

Shareef - Aunty, Shareef's not-so-shareef behaviour was not out of the ordinary of what perverts do - i.e. stay constrained when in public and reveal their true colours when in private. Therefore, I don't think it looks too forced or out of place since he has never really shared a private conversation with Jo ever since her becoming Mrs Jalal. Also, when a girl has NO IDEA whatsoever that a man has lusty intentions, wouldn't it take a few such sly conversations for her to get the gist. This in an era where there was no media and not much awaresness about all this. Hence, Jo's somewhat confused reactions also seemed quite natural🤔 Actually, I'd have been surprised if she picked on his statement instantly and reacted any other way. 🤔

Having said that, it's no surprise that the CVs have delved on this Shareeef-Jo angle again lately (as an additional drama/TRP factor) and decided to cash in on it. TBH, I have no issues 😆After all, what's not to like in a possessive angry young Jalal - hoping that's what the outcome will be! (at least for a traditional romantic like me)?

The precap:

I don't think he is seeking her advice aunty😊. He is frustrated...and most probably a comment or two from her end - had led on to this somewhat adorable outburst from his end! The undercurrent felt more like this -

'Why don't YOU put on my shoes for once and tell me how to think like an Emperor...its all sounds so easy to give lectures, isn't it? Now tell me as King what would you do?'

He sounded annoyed with her and she in a dilemma no doubt!

She is now, finally, coming face to face with the self-evident truth- self-evident to all but herself - that in an emperor's world, it is but rarely a choice between black and white, between good and bad, between right and wrong. It is almost always a choice between two shades of grey, between the bad and the worse, between the lesser wrong and the greater one.

👏 Wonderfully worded!

Somehow, I feel Jodha will be, for a change sensible, sensitive, perceptive, and supportive. She will respond that his pride and his stature as a Shahenshah are paramount, and so they should stay here and fight it out with Jalal's enemies, together.

😲...Hope so

Lovely analysis aunty 🤗

I think we are saliling on the same boat , OH! how have i tried to keep my expectations away from this show ? but the lines below, make me confess how i want jodha to deliver tommorrow .

So we wait, as we do so often, with bated breath, for Jodha's reaction to Jalal's dilemma. She is now Portia (from Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice), and he is summoning her, like a Daniel, to judgment. If Jodha muffs this one too, then I wash my hands, both of her and of my hopes for the Jalal-Jodha bond on my dreams.

As far as this episode goes , i just watched it , was busy with karva chauth n being hungry yesterday soit was no use to over exhaust myself, when i knew the chanda mama was still to show up after 3 hours.

About the episode ,I really liked the part when jalal did wait for jodha n announced to one n all tht she wore the dress for him . As far as shariffudin is concerned, he is not in grave trouble as he could read it on jodha's face tht she felt awkward n not angry with his leching, wat remains to be seen are his advances n ofcourse being true to her track record , jodha would NOT bring it to shenshah's notice for sure , which she would repent later. I also believe tht before shriffu officially started staring jodha he announced tht he was shenshah's behnoi n tht made jodha uncomfortable.

The rest , MP scene chausar scene , javeeda -maham scene, jalal-halwai scene were useless as per me .

I too noticed jodha glancing at jalal, it was as if she wanted to confirm if he would enjoy her ameri nritya or not ??

The hawa- hawai scene was good n tht jalal asked his soldiers not to harm hawaii was gud ( iam sure ekta does not want maneka trouble😉) but wat i did not understand was why MP did not come forward or bharmal , BG or even mansingh . No one came forward , wasn't bharmal the host of the function n wasn't this amer , any ways . But wat felt more stupid was MP n his jesters ,what was the need for the commentary all along , was to for the viewers ,HAWAII-101:- how to control a mad elephant : with MP handling oral classes n jalal the practicals .

All my hopes are on today's episode , if all goes well ( as we want shyamala aunty) then , tht would be the only significant change i would see , since the mughals have come to amer.
Otherwise this trip has been full of GETTING TO KNOW JODHA'S HUNAR , the ones she managed to learn without a thinking brain.

Cheers

When a man is dealing with his own pet - the pet HE knows more than anyone else! 😃
When a man looks confident enough of how to deal with the situation
When a man with authority like the Shehenshah is ordering even his own men to stay back
When a man who's so emotionally invested in it, doesn't want anyone else interfering (and not to forget that interfering or trying to help could have worsened the situation)
Then, it made more sense that the male crowd stood in their places and watched the leader do what he did best! hai na????😳
Also, since the scene was very quick it didn't feel odd that none really stepped forward...had it been a long one - I guess more reaction from them would have been warranted🤔

But wat felt more stupid was MP n his jesters ,what was the need for the commentary all along , was to for the viewers ,HAWAII-101:- how to control a mad elephant : with MP handling oral classes n jalal the practicals .
This I totally agree...they could have done away with that mugged up commentary from MP...basically their effort to show MP and Jalal as equals is sometimes only showing RT as an actor far superior to the MP guy as an actor

I agree, Lashy, they would, above all, have felt that the Shahenshah would resent any interference, and so would have stayed out, unless he was plainly unable to cope.

As for @red, I admire Rajat tremendously, but topping the Pratap guy in acting does not need a Rajat. Even Bharmal would do!

That was so graceful of a king to go and wait his begum to join him to the jashan. Alas, he was eager to see what she is wearing, whether she is wearing his gifted dress or had she set it aside. He looked mesmerized when he saw the angel stepping down the staircase drapped in Green & Yellow looking stunning, may be he missed a beat in that moment . And he even ensured that Jodha has worn that colour exclusively for him as he like that colour specially on Jodha. NO idea, whether that was to saves his wife from the teasing from his SILs or to hint Jodha that in future you need to entertain me with more and more green costumes (provided PH spends some more on her costume). Anyway, though JOdha could not understand whether that was a complement or tunt, still she flaunted a smile which took away the breath of Jalal and to recover he had to take a tour of the cooking area to shell out his enthusiasm of seeing his begum in his favourite colour.

I was pleased that he didn't wait for anyone to urge him to act instead even before anyone can realize that the Elephant is rampaging the arena, he ran down the steps and in no time was in front of his pet and moreoevr orders his soldiers to clear the place so that no more casualty occure before he control his friend. What I loved more is that I could see the fear in Jodha's eyes when Jalal went infront of the hawai to console. She was really worried for him and not for her bapusa's name or her sister's wedding. It was clearly for Jalal. I love you Jodha for that one moment of surprise you gave me.

But for one thing we need to bow to Cvs that they made him say, though he is an enemy, he is knowledgeable and brave. Thansk you Cvs for this gesture.

Though I totally agree with that Jodha was concerned and worried for Jalal during taming the elephant but after that I am not sure her worries were limited only for his safety. As a sister she has all the right to think about her sisters marriage which has to happen and if something goes wrong during the wedding, her sister's life will be trashed and her father can't lift his face amongst the Rajvamshis. Also every one will insult jalal for that as he had fixed the wedding and also because of his presence the things are getting out of order. Some of the Rajvamshis would have already started talking ill about Jalal by saying the rampage was caused by Jalal's pet animal and he had intentionally caused all these to spoil teh marriage of one more Rajvamshi. They might even refer Sukanya's broken marriage earlier because of jalal etc.

Worried Jodha might ask him to leave the Amer and return to Agra for the benefit of both parties that is Amerians and Jalal (Mughals) as she can't bear to see her sisters marriage at stake OR that some one bad mouthing her husband. Knowing her well that she is short of patience, she would have screamed those words of concern which would have sounded like barking orders @ jalal and with that exasperation, Jalal could have made her wear his Kings dress and asked her to take a valid stand on what he should do.

On the outset, I loved the way he asked Jodha about what should be his future action after taming the Elephant. And I am sure as hell, now that Jodha is placed her delicate legs in the shoes of Jalal, the badhsah of Hindustan, she will ask him to stay back and ensure to complete the wedding rituals which he had kick started by fixing alliane. She can't take it when some one, even if is her own people call Jalal coward and also she will ensure that she will take incharge of his safety from now on till he is in Amer which might continue afterwards.

- Jalal waiting, openly and without any pretence, for Jodha to come down. How many contemporary husbands would do this!

There are many chivalrous attributes in those days that are absent today. However, It works both ways and one might say there are many today that weren't present then too - I guess its all since preferences have changed😊No, no,my dear. That kind of old fashioned chivalry that you are thinking of is Western. No Hindustani shauhar, Mughal or Rajput, would have dreamed of waiting for his wife.

- Jodha stealing a look at her relaxed, smiling happy husband during the banjara dance. It is noteworthy that he is not then looking at her, so it is not a reaction on her part, but an initiative.

She would not have had time to parse her fear into all the component parts you have listed. It was like what the Swamis call instant perception, and here it was the perception of possible loss. I never cut Jodha any slack, but here I am sure she thought only of Jalal, the man.

Jalal would sure know his pal inside out and would need no back up for dealing with him.

Shareef - Aunty, Shareef's not-so-shareef behaviour was not out of the ordinary of what perverts do - i.e. stay constrained when in public and reveal their true colours when in private. My dear, if Jalal gets wind of anything like this, that will be the end of Sharifuddin. My bet is that even after Jodha cottons on to what is cooking, the foolish chick will try and tackle it herself, which would be a capital mistake.

What I meant was not that he was seeing her as an adviser, but rather that he was making her see what the throne of an empire, as opposed to that of a tinpot riyasat like Amer, was like by asking for her take on this dilemma. He is asking her for clear cut advice, but that is not to say he will take it. He wants to see if she can grasp where he is coming from as an emperor, for if she can't, no amount of caring, affection or even love can bridge the gap between them, and he will still be tanha.

She is now, finally, coming face to face with the self-evident truth- self-evident to all but herself - that in an emperor's world, it is but rarely a choice between black and white, between good and bad, between right and wrong. This is very nice, Jaya, but I would think better of Jodha if she did not dilute her fears for Jalal with all these supplementary concerns for her assorted Sas, her family.

She cannot seriously think that he would leave because of this incident; how can an emperor do such a thing? Let us see what she does now, for it is the time when she has to stand and deliver. Not simply make bhashans.

Iam fine now shyamala aunty , thanks for remembering . This fast is very important in punjabi's n so i keep it with full faith . As for me, i love getting all dressed up for visiting the temple to listen to the Katha (story) of this fast.

Aunty , i have a question for you here , does sharif have any idea abt jalal -jodha relationship, i mean the status of it because he eyes very clearly state wat is in his mind .

Did jodha understand it all or was she confused n thus behaved so ?
