As far as people blaming Jodha, I am happy Jodha messed up (in retrospect) because otherwise she would be a monotonous character who is ONLY good. Her limitations pull her down from the pedestal of an "angel", the picture that Jalal had in mind when marrying Jodha. Jalal wanted to ruin her angelic qualities, get her to submit to his more human ones. But he is realizing (through this and other incidents) along the way that she is not without her flaws. Although vastly different misgivings, Jodha is equality a person, equality in need of respect, love, and the right to happiness.
I digress, what I mean is, the viewers are used to goodie two shoes as the heroine and a bad boy as the hero. As this story transcends from those cliche notions, we get confused and frustrated that the characters are not fitting into our square mold. Especially in case of women, an undue pressure is placed on a woman to be moral and abide by the social codes when the man is excused of wrong doings. Here we see that the woman in her TIRELESS attempts to be the ideal woman (devi-like) messes up royally, almost getting her husband killed. Hopefully, she will discover that being righteous, kind, and all the virtues that society demands of her is not the only way to be a good human.
At the same time, the man who has always been above the law and gets away with murder everyday will realize the importance of virtue, kindness, of altruism and selflessness by being in the company of the woman.
It is only through each other than they both realize their potential and become better human beings. Jodha is not the only changing Jalal (that would be other freaking show of gawking over classic bad guys). Jalal also changes Jodha, protecting her from her over-zealous virtues.
They are working to satisfy the comic muse.
p.s. that is my analysis on why the show is not like the other Ekta shows.
I have slight suspicion Ekta might be taking a feminist standpoint here. She overtly claims to be a feminist but never shows it in her work (exceptions: a few of her unconventional films). It will be interesting to see if and when she uses those ideals in century so biased against women.
