(on one hand jodha and jalal were busy in recollecting the broken pieces of their relation in the jungle...where the agra palace was witnessing the conspiracies and mixed feelings of people...)

In Ruqqaiya's harem:-

(Ruqqaiya was pacing from here to there in her room...she was not able to digest yet that jalal talked with her in such a high tone and that also because of jodha...)

Ruqqaiya:- jin jalal ne aaj tak hum per kabhi ungli tak nahi uthayi...aaj wohi jalal us do take ki begum ke liye hume chup karaker chale gaye...unhe humare jazbaato se zyada us namurad ki jaan ki fikr thi...huh...to kya ho gaya...jaha mohabbat hoti hai waha thodi bahut shikwa shikayat to chalti hai...jalal sirf apna farz nibhane gaye hai waha...aur kuch nahi...(she tried to console herself)

Maham:- ye samajhne ki galti mat kijiyega begum sahiba...

(maham enters as she was listening all this from outside...)

Ruqqaiya:- aapke paas humare khwaabgah ke bahar kaan lagane ke alava or koi kaam nahi hai kya mahamanga...

Maham:- gustakhi maaf rukkaiya begum...lekin agar baat begum e khaas se judi ho to kaan lagane me koi harz nahi...or wese bhi is saltanat ki wazir hone ke nate har waqt chakanna rehna humara farz bhi hai or kaam bhi...

Ruqqaiya:-(stops her in mid by raising her hand) apke yaha aane ka sabab jaan sakte hai...

Maham:- hum to bus aapko hoshiyar karne aaye the...ke ab jodha begum ko kamzor samajhne ki bhul mat kijiyega...or ab to unke hath sone ka chirag bhi lag gaya hai...

Ruqqaiya:- aap ko bahut fikr rehne lagi hai aaj kal us mamuli begum ki...lagta hai aapko usse kuch zyada hi mohabbt ho gayi hai jabse usne aapke chere per rang dala hai...ha ha ha ha(laughs)

Maham(fumes with anger):- rangat to aapke chere ki bhi badal di hai usne or wo bina kuch kiye...or hume usse mohabbt ho ya na ho usse koi fark nahi pdta ruqqaiya begum...lekin agar jalal ko jodha se mohabbt ho gayi to shayad aap bardasht na kar paye...

Ruqqaiya:- kya bakwaas kar rahi hai aap...aap beshak jalal ki badi ammi hogi lekin humari nahi hai...is tarah baat karne ka hak nahi hai aapko humse maham...or kya kaha aapne...jalal or mohabbt wo bhi jodha se...mohabbt dil se ki jati hai wazir e aliya...or wo nahi hai humare jalal ke paas...jis aurat ko jalal ek nazar dekhna bhi pasand nahi karte...aap usse ishq ki baat kar rahi hai...wo sirf humare hai...sirf humare

Maham(laughs):- kab tak ye kehker khud ko tasalli deti rahegi aap ruqqaiya begum...aap man kyu nahi leti ke ab jalal apke hatho se nikal chuke hai...ab to jodha hi raaj karegi un per...

(maham was enjoying ruqqaiya's irritation and jealousy towards jodha...and adding more fuel to fire)

Ruqqaiya:- wo kuch nahi kar sakti...samjhi aap...humare samne koi aukat hi nahi hai us mamuli ladki ki..

Maham:- wohi to baat hai ruqqiya begum...abhi tak to usne kuch kiya hi nahi hai...aur itna kuch ho gaya...bina kuch kiye hi apko upper se niche tak pura lal kar diya usne...hume to taras aa raha hai aap per...ke kaise aapki nazro ke samne jalal uske hote ja rahe hai...or aap yaha khadi hoker sirf tamasha dekhne ke alava or kuch bhi nahi kar paa rahi...chu chu chu(sound)...ha ha ha

Ruqqaiya:- mahammm...(slaps her so hard on face that she falls down) aapki himmat kaise hui humse ese baat karne ki...apni aukat or humari haisiyat ka fark mat bhuliye...aap mogul saltanat ki mehez ek mulazim hai...or hum yaha ke shenshah ki khas begum...kya apko ab ye tahzeeb bhi sikhani padegi ke ek mulazim ko apni begum se kaise baat karni chahiye...khair aapki malumat ke liye hum aapko bata de...ke jalal waha sirf or sirf mogul saltanat ki izzat ke liye gaye hai...us jodha bai ke liye nahi...samjhi aap

(maham puts her hand on her cheek...faces ruqqaiya...still sitting on the floor...laughs with tears in her eyes)

Maham:- acha...to phir kaha hai wo dono...abhi tak wapas kyu nahi aaye(she looks around in every direction)...hume to kahin nahi dikhte mehel me...agar farz hi nibhana hota to ab tak to unhe mehel me hona chahiye tha na...bevkoof hai aap ruqqaiya begum...hahahah...bevkoof(laughs more loudly) sochiye zara...ghana andhiyara jungle...jodha or jalal ek saath wo bhi akele bina kisi nigrani ke...kya kuch nahi ho sakta hai unke bich...lekin aap ko apne gurur se fursat hi kaha jo is sab ke bare me soch sake...humara kaam tha aapke aankho per bandhi patti ko kholna aage aapki marzi...or aaj ye jo thappad aapne hume mara hai...gar lautkar aapke gaal per na aaya humare hatho, to humara naam bhi mahamanga nahi...lekin humare tamache me aavaz nahi hogi...yaad rakhiyega Ruqqaiya begum is thappad ki gunj taumr sunai degi aapko...taumr...khuda hafiz...(she leaves)

(it was enough for ruqqaiya...her temper raises to its maximum height...and she throws the flower vase put in the table on the mirror...the mirror breaks and its parts scatter in the ground...ruqqaiya's angry face is very much visible in those pieces...)

Ruqqaiya:- nahiii...hum esa kabhi nahi hone dege...humare jite ji jalal tumhare kabhi nahi ho sakte jodha...wo humare the...humare hai or hamesha humare hi rahege...bhale hi tum jungle se sahi salamat wapas aa jao...per mehel me agar tumhari zindagi ko jahannum na bana diya to humra naam bhi rukkaiya sultan nahi...suna tumne...suna...ha ha ha ha(laughs like mad)

*on the other hand Adham was thinking of something else...his evil plannings were taking place in his so called mind(wese he doesn't have that...definately)*

(Adham and some of his supporters talking to one another...i have given them names meraj, yusuf and mustaid)

Yusuf:- adham khan sahib...hume nahi lagta ke ye waqt mukammal hoga iske liye...

Meraj:- haan subedar sahib...fauj ki sabhi tukdiya jungle me shenshah or begum ki khoj me mashruf hai...is waqt ye jokhim uthana shayad humare liye durust sabit na ho...ek bar aur soch le aap...

Adham:- tum logo ko maut ka itna khauf hai to humare sath aane ki koi zarurat nahi hai...adham khan akela hi jallaluddin Muhammad ko maut ke ghat utarne ke liye kafi hai...buzdil kahi ke...dafa ho jao yaha se...

Mustaid:- nahi subedar sahib...esa nahi hai...hum sab apke sath hai or aap ko hi agra ke takht per bataur shenshah dekhna chahte hai...magar ye hoga kaise...

Adham:- yehi to sabse mukammal waqt hai bevkufo...jalal jungle me bilkul akela hai...hum use jungle me hi khatam kar dege...aur kisi ko hum per shak bhi nahi hoga...

Yusuf:- wo kaise adham khan sahib??

Adham:- tum bus dekhte jao...kal subah jo fauj ki tukdi jalal ki khoj me jayegi...uski Kaman hum samhalege...aur fauj ko is tarah gumraah kar dege ke isse pehle wo jalal tak pahuche...hum use dhundker khatm kar dege...

Meraj:- lekin adham khan sahib...shenshah akele kaha hai...jodha begum bhi to hai unke sath...aur humne to suna hai ke jodha begum shamshir chalane me behad mahir hai...kahin wo...

Adham(laughs loudly):- ha ha ha ha...to tum ye kehna chahte ho ke wo nazuk ladki bachyegi jalal ko humse...hawa me shamshir chalana aur baat hai yusuf khan...aur jang me adham khan ka samna karna aur...ha ha ha...uski garden to pal bhar me marod dege hum...bechari kuch bol bhi nahi payegi...ab to hume bus kal subah ka intezaar hai...kyuki kal ka suraj aagra ki siyasat aur takht dono ko palat ker rakh dega...aur hum banege adham khan- shenshah e hind...ha ha ha...

(maham listens to adham's laughter ...and moves in that direction...maham enters his room)

(all three supporters of adham greets mahamanga and leaves...)

Maham:- ye kya guftgu chal rahi thi adham...

Adham:- kuch nahi ammi jaan...hum to bus badshah salamat ke bare me baat kar rahe the...

Maham:- jalal ke bare me... lekin kya??

Adham:- aaj hum aapse kuch mangna chahte hai ammi jaan...aur hume ummid hai ke aap inkaar nahi karegi...

Maham:- aapki iltja kaise thukra sakte hai hum adham ...aap bte hai humare...kahiye kya chahiye aapko...

Adham:- jyada kuch nahi ammi jaan...hum keval itna chahte hai...ke kal jo fauj ka hissa shenshah ki talash me jane wala hai uski kamaan aap hume samhalne de...

Maham:- ye to bahut achi baat hai adham...lekin achanak...hum kuch samjhe nahi...

Adham:- yehi to ammi jaan...humne kitni baar kaha hai aapse...humari kabiliyat per shak mat kiya kijiye...bahut dukh hotha hai hume...lekin ek aap hai jinhe hum per yakin hi nahi hai...jaane dijiye...hum hi bevkoof hai jo apse kuch ummid rakhi...pehli bar hum mogul saltanat ke liye kuch karna chahte the...magar aap hai ki...rehne dijiye...(and he moves away...maham holds his hand)

Maham:- nahi adham...aapne esa kaise soch liya ke aap ki ammi jaan ko aap per yakin nahi...beta hum aapse behad muhabbat karte hai...itni ke humne apne farz tak se bagavat kar li aapki khatir...thik hai...jaisa aap chahte hai waisa hi hoga...kal fauj ki Kaman aap hi samhalege...thik hai...ab to khush hai na aap...aur dobara esi behuda baate mat kijiyega...(maham hugs adham...adham hugs back and gives an evil smile...)

Adham:- aap befikr rahe ammi jaan...kal apka beta jungle se esa karnama karke lautega ke taumr naaz karegi aap apni is aulad per...

(scene shifts to jungle...its morning now...and both jalal and jodha are still sleeping...the sunrays falls on jalal's face and he wakes up and what he sees is really a treat to his eyes in that sunny morning...jodha is still sleeping...holiding jalal's arm...resting her head on jalal's shoulder...it brings a wide smile to jalal's face...)

Jalal:- dekho zara...humesha hume hidayat deti hai dur rehne ki...aur khud hi bar bar humare karib aa jati hai...per aapki ye gustakhi hume behad pasand aati hai jodha begum...hmmm...pata nahi kya ho gaya hai hume...uff ye jzbaat...

(jalal notices that jodha is moving her eyes in her sleep and making faces as the sun rays falling on her face are disturbing her sleep...jalal turns towards her a bit very carefully without disturbing jodha's hand so as to prevent the sun rays from reaching her face and make her sleep peacefully...jalal's shadow covers jodha's face...he looks at her...sleeping like a little girl...jalal smiles to the core at his luck...a thread of hair on jodha's face again tries to disturb her...but jalal can't allow anyone to annoy his begum...he puts that thread behind her ear by running his fingers on her face...the soothing touch cause jodha to wake up...she opens her eyes slowly and looks at jalal smiling...)

Jalal:-(still touching her face) uth gayi humari begum...nind to achi tarah aayi na aapko

Jodha(smiling):- hmmm...aapko??

Jalal:- haan...thodi bahut...

Jodha:- kya matlab...aap soye nahi??

Jalal:- aapki nigrani bhi to karni thi na...aap pareshan mat hoiye humari nind puri ho gayi...

Jodha:- shenshah...hum aapse kuch kehna chahte hai...

Jalal:- hmmm...kahiye...

Jodha:- hum aapse shama mangna chahte hai apne asabhya vyvhar ke liye...hum jante hai ke hum bahut ziddi hai...per hum aapko vachan dete hai ke aaj ke baad kabhi mogul saltanat ke samman per aanch nahi aane dege...aur hum prayas karege ke ek achi patni ke sare kartavya nibhaye...

Jalal:- sare kartavya(gives her an evil smirk)

Jodha:-(she make an angry face) humara arth hai...baki sare kartavya...

Jalal:- koi baat nahi jodha begum...humara suluk bhi bahut acha nahi tha aapke sath...per pichle kuch dino ke hadso ke baad hume ye ehsaas ho gaya hai ke aap mehez humari fateh ki ek nishani nahi hai...aap humari zimmedari hai...or ab hum is zimmedari ko bakhubi nibhayege...aapko kabhi bhi beizzat karne ki koshish nahi karege...aapko humse wo sari izzat milegi...jitni ek begum ko apne shauhar se milni chahiye...hum bhi apne ab tak ke bartav ke liye aapse maffi mangna chahte hai...

Jodha:- (smiles) koi baat nahi shenshah...hume ab koi bair nahi hai...aaj se hum ek naye jivan ko prarambh karne ka prayaas karege...

Jalal:- achhi baat hai...hum bhi koshish karege ke aapko kisi chiz ki kami mehsus na ho...or apni walida ke bare me fikr mat kijiyega...hum unse baat kar lege...wo naraz nahi rahegi aapse zyada der tak...ab chale mehel me ammi jaan or baki sab pareshan ho rahe hoge...

Jodha:- ji...

(jalal stands up and offers his hand to jodha...jodha looks at his hand...jalal thinks that she will not accept his offer...he was about to move his hand away...but jodha holds it this time...stands up and smiles at him...jalal smiles back...this time a little wider...they leave the cottage...)
