All Jodha can hear is that he has allowed her to be free and does not care if she takes him up on that offer. Her pride will not allow her to admit to him or herself what her feelings are. She is taking refuge behind the safe wall of hatred rather then revealing the vulnerabilities of changing emotions. She does not see his expressions or hear what is behind the words and what is subtley said.

Jalaal is convinced that she hates him and some part of him probably recognizes that the hatred may be justified based on his recent actions. He feels regret but is resigning himself to accept the hatred even though he hopes otherwise.

This is certainly a step in the direction of change. They have come to an impasse. She has to decide what she wants to do and he will accept her as a wife and not a trophy.

It will be interesting to see how and by whom this decision is made. We may be in for some good scenes as they circle one another hoping for some reprieve from their pain.
