Rukayya can try to control Jalal to her heart's content, but she can't control his feelings.
She will be completely helpless when Jalal falls for Jodha. Mind games can only take you so far.

"Mind games can only take you so far." This is something Indian women need to write down, and possibly get a t-shirt printed as well. 😆😆

Yes, mind games take you only a little bit far. It might take you where you want for a while, but it will destroy yourself later. I find manipulation more of it as a weakness.

now what I find OTT is the presumptions that are being made on the basis of precap.. Jalal many time had hurt her, shouted on her but she never ever did any scene create, she became angry on him many time before but she never shouted..so why would she break a vase out of anger only? there must have happened something more which led her to do that, and many times what we assumed seeing the precap never came out the ultimate truth..how we expected any scene, and made comments on it's impossibility, we saw that actually the scene executed in all possible way..so breaking a vase, and taking that as a ground we shouldn't frame jodha as a spoilt brat..yes she is simple, innocent, but spoilt brat!!well, first let me see the episode,:-)

^ absolutely agree! In all her preachyness & prejudice, Jodha has a few streaks of flaw in her which make her not so like a conventional Hindi telly serial heroine.
But that said, I am absolutely fascinated by Noor Jehan!!!

Note: Manipulation shows guile, not smartness or "brains" .

After-all it took the apparently " dumb" Jodha to beat the "maipulative & brainy" Ruqaiyya at chess, what? 5 minutes? 😆

Jodha is truly smart. Ruqaiyya is all street (Mughal world) catty smart.
For Harry Potter fans- Ruqaiyya is quite like Bellatrix Lestrange. All mad, bouncing away like firecrackers on Diwali night, like! She is very straightforward in her manipulation & evil.

Jodha, is the interesting one. She looks all innocent & while she isn't naturally manipulative she does have some sort of a devious streak. She looks all sweet & innocent & before you know it-She has delivered you a blow with the most beautifully soft punch😆. In that , she is so much like Dumbledore- Who along with Snape, was the most fascinating character in the HP world! Dumbledore is benevolently Machiavellian!

And Jodha is much like that.

Bellatrix was a psychopath 😆

Jodha is a mixture of Scarlett O'hara and Melanie Wilkes

Yes she Is & Ruq apart from the psychoses, is much like her.
Jodha isn't anything like Scarlett O'Hara, Ruq has streaks of Sarlett ( who I LOVE BTW- But I find Ruq terribly annoying after a point 😆)

Melanie Wilkes, yes. And streaks of Dumbledore.
