i think your trying to say that all women in the 16th century were subservient to the husbands and men an a whole. but i think your wrong, women in powerful positions would have been just as aggressive and ambitious in any age. if england could have a powerfull women Queen Elizebeth rule Great Britain in the 16th century, why could not Jodha a Rajput princess married to the empror of india have oodles of attitude? to question her husband in privet and even rebuke him with her displeasure. if women rule the house hold in the 21st century. 16th century princess and queens would be even more powerful in their respective household. and if you notice Jodha does not insult or rebuke her husband in public, but in the privacy of their chambers.
and dont you forget that in India is the country where the Male God and the Female Goddess has equal power, status and reverence.it is only the new 19th century that and western christian culture that has brought about this discrepancy between the importance of men and women. but India women were revived from time immemorial . we have two great epics to remind us of how much influence the women had over men. if were not of importance or influence wars would not have been fought in their honor and men would not want to kill or be killed for the honer of their women.it is only the modern man who holds low esteem for women. they have forgotten their roots, if a woman can be sacrificing like sita, she can also be as destructive at Durga and Kali.you should go back and read your history book and powerful woman like Rani Laxmi Bai. Razia Sultan. and other women who chalanged the power of men will pop up. and for your information the were not 21st century women.

Ok.. First of all, the protests have nothing to do with how Jodha is being portrayed in the show.. I agree that she cannot talk to Jalal the way she does, there are more subtle ways to do that. As far as the historical accuracy is concerned, there is disclaimer running for 2 mins. A show cannot change history which is long gone and past. No one can. Akbar is not cruel, nor is he shown as cruel.. he is far from it.
I don't understand in what way khushi, madhubala etc are 16th century bahusš²I understand people have high expectations from Jodha because she is Queen, princess which does not equate to being a pious Goddess. She is a human being too, a woman.. who has her own set of flaws. Jalal put her through a lot and forgive her if she doesn't endure everything without saying a word.Unfortunately, women especially on Indian Tv are portrayed as wholly good or wholly bad.. they are supposed be virtuous, good bahu, beti, patni and god knows what not. I wish people would stop putting her on a pedestal. Nobody is perfect.
