The woman cries when she is happy, sad, plotting.. she even cried when Bairam Khan left.. she's got some serious issues..

But I think she is torn between Adham and Jalal.. What she said today was I love Adham more. and in my opinion.. the reason why she said.. yeh baat humne apne saaye se bhi chupayi hai..A part of her doesn't want to accept what she did.

I don't think she did it to make Adham king. Do you remember the part where Adham says, that he will be happiest if he knew that Maham killed Jalal's unborn child, because it will prove Maham's love for him. That is the whole point of her actions. She, on some level, wanted to prove her love for her own boy. And she felt that perhaps killing Jalal's child was the best way to do it.
