I'd missed last week's episodes so decided to catch up... Saw (as expected😆) a lot of posts about Akbar... so decided to pen down my observations about the new Mrs Jalal...

My initial personal reaction is that Jodha has begun showing a lot of maturity at her new place...

She is carrying herself with a lot of dignity😳...while she is not too vocal about her wishes and her wants, she does not act like a doormat or concede defeat willingly either thus reflecting her proud and wise persona...(yes she's had a few tears in private...but then she's surrounded by foreign traditions, far from her loved ones, with no allies and no love from anyone bar Hameeda Banu...)

I love the replies she's given MA and Ruq so far...they have neither been too emotionally driven nor too callous

More so with Jalal - I loved how she defended her stance on the song she sang...and how she tried to avert his advances by stating that he was not in his normal state since he was intoxicated...just the right amount of spice...subtly feisty and not too dramatic...

I hope the makers keep up this equation...without making it any more spicy or any blander either 😃

I had seen various posts criticising the manner Jodha used to conduct herself back in her own mahal! But that was only because she was their jaan hence why they could not say anything to her! (remember the freeing the bird scene, to introduce Jodha?) (- being in one's own home, helps one find a ground where one feels confident enough to depict one's anger openly- precisely what we saw in Jodha)

HOWEVER...

Her arrival in Agra has ensured she kept her rage intact! She as you aptly pointed out, still stands her ground but does so with a lot of sophistication which ends up making her the winner everytime!.. I love the new Jodha just as much as I loved the old Jodha!😳 Her hatred for Akbar has not ceased nor decreased, but she also knows she is his wife, and am sure, had Akbar come in that room in a non-intoxicated state, she would not have shown disgust at the thought of consummating the marriage, - i mean we saw that in her face, when she realised consummation was inevitable in that wall scene yesterday)

Poor Jodha, she wished she had killed herself, but now knows she cant! As she no longer holds a right to her own life! (That was so sad, especially when she said, for Ajmer she was willing to manage to just about live her life with Jalal, but now with the reason of why he married her being so clear, what is she to do)

I completely agree, however, i do wish they heat up their story a bit much. Make it more passionate. 😊

@ innocent... I loved Jodha then ...even during the outfit burning thingy...and i love her now too... but since some weren't convinced then thought of opening this thread to reflect on the differences in her behavior...hopefully viewers warm up to her even more now...

both jalal and jodha are being shown more matured now than when the show started...

I agree with you...she is graceful and poised...I am so happy that there is no unnecessary shrieking and yelling...the grace with which she has handled maham and ruqaiya is commendable...infact, yesterday's jalal-jodha scene was nicely handled...the way she flinches was a giveaway of how she feels about jalal? Yes, she was shedding tears..but it was moti Bai...her closest friend...so it's understandable...

I think, though she is relieved that jalal too does not seek physical intimacy(after, his gigantic ego got hurt😉)...she is worried about the fact that jalal's action will be driven by the idea of humiliating her...making it even more difficult to handle an already complex man, jalal...

About the song she sang! What would she have sung apart from Bhajans or rajput valour songs.? The guy practically asked for it.

Her replies and behaoviour have been very sensible and matured.

Btw, the chilli adding (surrogate) Kaanoon ki maa😆 me soo not likey. 'YAAAWN' Saas bhi kabhi bahu this types... I wish Jalal forces her to have food with him and both Mr and Mrs Strong head eat the food in silence shooting daggers while swallowing the daggers...this will be the only saving grace of the chillie episode.
