I too am hating the fact that ekta has slaughtered history!
As you said akbar had three chief wives. Ruqaiya, bore no child; bairam's widow; and mariam uz zamani, gave birth to salim. U see mariam was jodha. There are confusions with names. But we can say that the hindu princess was mariam aka harka bai.
The love story depicted here in jodha akbar could be true as akbar did love mariam. But we can't call this show 'fiction' and get away with it! It is history and what is history?-a collection of TRUE events! Yeah, this being a daily soap all the love and little drama can be digested. But it would have been better if the makers wouldn't have bended the facts! Like have u seen ruqaiya? Poor soul. Feel really bad for her!
