What an absolutely perfect scene that would have been, instead of this over the top melodramatic nonsense!

Plus, in these sort of situations, the stuff always seems to catch fire in an instant after a passing brush with a flame. In real life, the joda would have knocked the wick out and extinguished the jyoti, that is all, and there would have been a large oily patch on that wonderful Dacca muslin.

The impact, however, would have been exactly the same. But then the scriptwriters love these (literally) flaming rows!!😉

I agree with you on the last part in bold, it made me feel queasy.

.i did not want her accepting those gifts whatever the scenario...the ehsaan part is weighing so heavily on them already and i hated the look on the entire rajput clan when sharifuddin was reading out the list...they have moulded themself into future in laws so easily like everything else

Thank you, Suvi. No, I am not demanding a flawless perfomance, only some self-control and cold dignity. It is when the chips are down that these are needed. Not the kind of behaviour that one would expect from a fishwife in the market. But for Jalal, this intial goof up could have destroyed Amer.

As for the rest, I agree with you.

Yes, the burning of dress is not what exactly a royal will do...that too one who is firmly pushed in a corner...but, I would dump a major share of its responsibility on bharmal's head (no, not door)...you have pushed an individual in a spotlight at the biggest stage possible...now you demand a flawless performance...no, not possible...these are initial goof ups (very ektaish ofcourse) by the performer or jodha...though jodha is lucky...if, I may say so because jalal is planning a revenge on jodha and not on entire amer...and, jalal seems to be an ardent believer of 'revenge is dish best served cold'...

Jodha was very very impulsive...so was jalal, for Abdul's sake he was ready to disclose his identity in amer( if not for jodha's timely intervention to stop Abdul's execution)...somehow, I like the fact that in one episode if I am cheering for one character...the same character, in the very next episode leaves me pulling my hair...as I had said yesterday...we will witness journey of jalal and jodha culminating in them becoming shehensha Akbar and mallika-e-hind respectively...jalal is moving steadily in this direction...jodha too will be there...but, not before loads of drama, twists and turns...

Now, moving on to 'shart' scene...for me, it's was the best scene of the day...if, it was poise and grace on one side of the purdah...air on the other side of the pardah was brimming with supremacy...and, ultimately jalal outwits jodha...checkmate...all escape route shut firmly...

By 'you' I meant bharmal and co...mainavati's feet again gave up...my comment was wrt jodha's family...yes, her actions could have devastating consequences...that's why I said...she is lucky that jalal is planning a revenge on her and her alone...not on her beloved amer...

Heyo aunty!!!!!! Btw Im new here and this is probably my first ever post so kudos to me!!! I love reading you posts and this one is no different!!! I agree with almost everything you say except for the way to interpreted Jodhas behaviour!!! See according to one of Rajats interviews hes potraying a 20-21 year old akbar , So that probably makes jodha Like 17 or 18!!! Basically that makes her a teenager!!!! Me being a teenager myself ( yeah im that young) i know that we tend to make horrible decisions when scared or anxious!!!! We start thinking straight and of pros and cons only after we get out of the initial shock and when we accept the circumstances as it is!!!!!!

Jalal thinks he is victorious by the defeating look on Jodha's face.The biggest mistake he makes is underestimate the power and endurance of a woman like Jodha.She will adjust and compromise her life for her family but a woman's honour is more important than her life.

I believe now the testing and the beginning of a new chapter.For Jodha to change from her fairytale world she has to realise the harsh realities of life.Jalal needs to understand the real meaning to be a Emperor.A ruler doesnt have to be a destroyer.For Jodha to understand Jalal she needs to breathe the same air as him.For Jalal to understand Jodha he needs to be willing to explore.
