My dear Ela,

It is good to be back in touch with you after a while. I am so glad that you like my JA posts, and this one as well, for I know you for a serious critic, and a demanding one!

Once the Jalandhar track ended in DKDM, I lost interest in writing anything about that serial, though I still watch it regularly. There was nothing left to discuss and analyse, and the current Ramayana track will be more of the same It was bizarre that when Kaushalya was giving birth to Rama, the other two queens, who must also have been expecting their deliveries any moment, were standing around decked out like Christmas trees😉. Later, Dasharath seemed surprised at the very thought of his having more sons😉. Did he not remember that the other 2 queens were to give birth any time at all? It is all nuts., and I think Utkarsh is sleepwalking thru these episodes, as is most of the cast, including the new Parvati, who looks like Mahadev's shishya, not his ardhangini. his equal other.

In comparison with that, Jodha Akbar, with such a complex, conflicted and fascinating central character, was manna from Heaven, no less! I agree that this Jodha is nowhere near up to the mark, she lacks both stature and the regal air that is necessary for the role, and when she tries to project aakrosh, it is even worse. It is a pity that Sonarika did not move out of DKDM 3 months earlier; she would have made a perfect Jodha. - really beautiful, regal, gracious and fiery as the need arises.

Of course Jalal knows that she was actually targeting a likely Mughal spy, but then he also knows that she would have reacted even more fiercely if she had known it was he! Plus it is the actual physical helplessness at that moment that galls him. It is to be noted that contrary to her later assertion that he adopted deceit - kapat - the fact is that he does no such thing. He never tells a single lie; it is suppressio veri, not suggestio falsi. As for Suryabhan, he is all hot air, plus he is a lousy artist!😉

Doesnt Jalal realze that Jodha didnt humiliate him but rather put her sword on the neck of an ordinary soldier.?
Jalal was very interested in hearing abt Jodha when artist was speaking abt her...Infact encouraged her to go on...
I am really fed up with boring Suryabhan...plus they should have been more careful while choosing Jodha...

OMG you are too good a writer and loved your analysis to the core👍🏼. I am not that frequent to these forums but whenever I come I do look forward to read your articles.
Also I agree with you that its hard to belief that this show belongs to Ekta Kapoor camp as everything has been so meticulously planned and well executed (be it the character sketching & acting & body language of the actors, the sets, costumes, etc). Infact each episode has something interesting to show and pace is quite good till now.

Disha my dear,

Whatever would I do without there to boost my morale? Thanks ever so much, my dear! Whenever I start a post, I never know how it is going to turn out, and so when people like it, it is both relief and reassurance.

But yesterday's episode was so very, very good that the analysis practically wrote itself. I am glad you were satisfied and happy with the encomiums I lavished on your wonder boy, for everything I wrote about Jalal really was meant for Rajat. He is getting better by the day. The same, unfortunately, cannot be said of his future beloved, but it is no use lamenting that, so I shall desist!

The end of the Diwan-e-Khas scene was superlatively directed; I have never before seen anything on TV as evocative of a state of mind - Bairam Khan's - as this one.

Let us see what happens today.

brilliantly written,yet again aunty! 👏

Firs things first, after the jalal rescueing abdul episode,THIS was the best epi so far! 👏

Cvs have done a wondeful job with the way they dealt with this track.I really liked the way Jalal confronted Bairam. It was very realistic and SMART!

Needless to say,Rajat was at his best, yet again 😃

As far as the actor who plays Bairam, very big improvement from the usual monotony 😛 Although, that hissing voice he fakes,is very annoying.

I particularly liked the scene where ThakkatMal's soldier talks to Jalal.Very well executed.Transition of change in expressions was very smooth 👏

The final encounter in the deewen-e-khaas.Brilliant 👏 screenplay,execution-spot on! 👏 and some very catchy dialogues! The dialogue writer deserves a pat on his back, because he has delivered very good dialogues in almost all episodes! 👏

Oh and even i noticed that, the eyes which glittered of desire in the past, seemed a bit tard now.He is the shahenshah afterall and he was humiliated back there in the jail.

looks like we have some exciting things coming up soon 😉

ruqaiya,i am not even old enough to properly understand how heartbreaking this could be.But somehow,i felt for her.It is really very saddening.

You have spoke my mind on this btw, that little bit where you spoke about she was a high born AND the shahenshah's favourite.Everything in here world simply 'worked' for her.But here comes something she can't do anything about! it is truly sad.

As you can say,i have been only 'clapping' throughout 😆 So I think that speaks for itself 😳

Thank you so much, my dear Rimi. Yes, this serial is way above the usual Balaji fare, and I am still recovering from the shock of that!

Dear Apurva,

I am glad you enjoyed the episode so much, and my post on it as well. You are absolutely correct in you analysis of the Bairam-Jalal exchanges, Our boy was in top form!

No, though Salima must be older than Jalal - even if she is obviously very much younger than Bairam Khan - that would not matter really. Besides, if Jalall saw Bairam Khan as a father figure, it does not mean that he also saw his latest wife (Bairam Khan firs married a Rajput lady, and her son. Rahim, was a famous poet and a devotee of Lord Krishna!) as a mother figure! He must have married her only about 6 years ago, for that kid is not even 5 by the looks of him.

Dear girl, you must not import all these soapish ideas as maa-jaisi, behen-jaisi and so one here! It is no such thing She would be maa-jaisi only if he had interacted with her on that basis and I am sure he never did. I think he married her to ensure her protection, for Bairam Khan's enemies would have been everywhere, and might have sought to take revenge on her as he was no longer alive.

And relax, there was nothing wrong then, and there is nothing wrong now, with a man marrying an older woman. Then again, should we, as women/girls, not stand up for other, older women?😉

This one was indeed Fabulous!

Even the episode was Amazing today
I really feel the best part was the starting, Jalal-Bairam interaction, I was so Happy seeing how Jalal was ignoring Bairam Khan, Good for him.
I heard that Bairam Khan, true, he helped Jalal being a Shehen-Shah, tought him the Siyasi Hathkande and all.
But If he was so Good and genourous to do that, Why he is now like this?
My Mother says, Maybe he got Proudy on himself that Attitude sort of thing!
And their Conversation
The best part when Bairam says, "Hamari wajah se app Shehen Shah hai" *SomethingLikeThat*
I was wondering what will Jalal reply to this..
But he gave the Best Answer
"Hamare Waalib ki wajah se aaj hum iss Jahan me hai"
He showed Bairam that he is the Badshaah, and he only a Wazeer!
I really Appreciate that artist who draws the potraits without seeing the one.
One thing I feel akward about Salima Begum is:
Currently, Bairam is like a father for Jalal then her Biwi must be like mother, How can he marry her, isn't she older than Jalal?
But she was very Beautiful, I must say...
I am really waiting paitently for seeing Jalal-Jodha track...This Surya-Jodha track is getting Boring...
I am loving what Amazing piece of Analysis you write...Even the things which go un noticed by me, is described beautifully in your posts.
I am Glad you are in this forum.😊
Wating, you will write more..
Fab!
Love your posts.
