This article is just too extreme. I don't blindly believe anything. I'd rather pick up a book.

TFS 😊

books all have potrayed Akbar was great...but all vedhas and shastras say that he was not great...I have read bhavishya purana. chapters...which says he was not great king...he was really cruel and forced all women to sleep with him...and treated them very badly

sry for the mistake...its bhavishya purana and not rigvedha
info: plz do read BP...it contains from ghazni, gori and even Akbar rule...guys even indian puranas also contain about Mughal dynasty.this was written by vedha vyasa and he predicted everything ...and everything that happ was true..

You do realize Rigveda was written way before Mughal invasion? That's impossible. Vedas and shastras? I hope you are joking.

I really want to watch this show, cause I like Rajat Tokas as an actor, but unfortunately for me, I studied Mughal History in college and I simply can't watch this show, without picking out its inaccuracies in every scene!😆 Especially given that Ekta Kapoor is at the helm!
Regarding Akbar...well, he was a very good administrator and an extremely astute politician, who did a lot of good for India at that time. But as a person, he was typical of his times...he was the first Mughal King to have a huge Harem...nearly 5000 women!😕 He was infamous as a womaniser and there are many historical facts to prove that a lot of Hindu women in his harem were forcibly taken.
But at that time, a King was considered the equivalent of God...and it was widely believed that they had divine rights and could do anything to anyone. So while, this might seem blasphemous in today's time and age, I think for his time, Akbar was like any other king with his kind of power and influence.
I think it hurts a lot of hindu, especially Rajput sentiments, to see that Jodha Bai actually fell in love with Akbar, when it is widely documented, that nothing like that happened. The King of Mewar was forced to give his daughter to Akbar, in order to save the lives of his subject. Infact, no one called Jodha Bai is even mentioned in Akbar-Nama...his personal autobiography, nor is her name mentioned in Jahangir's memoirs.
Akbar did marry a Rajput Princess, but she was converted to Islam...though in order to make peace with his hindu subjects, Akbar let his queen practice her own religion after his wedding.
I think this show should be seen as a complete work of fiction with just the names of the characters being derived from history.
PS: There is a great book by Vincent Smith on Akbar...it is considered to be an authority on Akbar's reign and his personality! Read it to get a more accurate account of the kind of man and king that Akbar really was!

😆

The vedas? And you read in the vedas that Akbar was not great? 😆

Ignorance as it turns out is not always bliss. 😆

With that said it's common knowledge how Mughal kings treated Hindu women, barbaric and inhuman. That's what led to child marriage and Sati (as some scholars believe,) . The Mughals would take away all virgin and single women. If Akbar fell under this banner I do not know. Being Mughal, it must not come as a surprise if he did.

bold...
I agree with u...the thing is its past so no one knows what exactly he was...but has to agree that he has done good things also...
but during his period many people were killed...and women were forced
but after marrying jodha...his life did change
I am really liking this show...as somehow I feel the questions in mind will be answered soon regarding Akbar specially
