Jodha-Akbar- before coming to what I liked n what I disliked , n what should be shown n what shouldn't be shown, lets first think what was the promise this show opened with.
Jodha Akbar is supposed to be a love story, NOT a political drama. It's tag line announce , "Will Jodha's love transform a great warrior in to a benevolent king ?"
So that's what we are to expect from this story. It is always better to remember with what promise the story started with as that some times helps a lot to explain why scertain things are being shown in the show.
Bt this time the characters of both Jodha n Akbar have been clarified to us to some extent, so let's start with them.
Jodha- A fierce, open minded, intelligent yet soft hearted princess, she doesn't believe in carrying with her a so-called-royal-attitude, she's kind of care free n easy going, yet when it comes to Amer n it's people, her care, her worry, her empathy, her existence all is focused in them. In one way she's soft hearted , graceful, kind , generous , ever smiling personality , it's nearly impossible to ruffle her temper except when it comes to Mughals n jalal. So, she has two opposite sides of her nature, one fierce , strong , unyielding 'a true warrior princess, bole to Sherni, when it comes to protecting her people, or her near n dear ones. She has a high moral standard, she upholds righteousness, truth , moral courage as most important , yet again there is another side of her full of love n warmth for all , a very interesting combination . A perfect woman in a way, even if you don't count that her beauty is a living legend. Her qualities more than her beauty have attracted Jalal towards her, he doesn't know yet his unfailing instinct , his subconscious must have realized that this girl is her soul mate , that they're meant to be ( I'm a sucker for soul mate thing lolz ). She hates Jalal with such a passion that it's almost suspicious. But recently she has started to brew some feelings for her fianc Suryabhan as well, now my point is why this is being shown ? When we know, unfortunately, that Surya-Jodha won't end up together ? Obviously with her growing feelings for Surya, it'll be , if possible, even more painful to marry Jalal, a man whom she wanna she dead. Even after marriage , her confused state of feelings may add to the already piled up problems in her marital relation with her difficult-to-deal quite-a-handful hubby. May be this may even lead to future misunderstanding tracks between her n Jalal.
After marriage she'll realize that Jalal himself was the victim of the situation , starved of true love n affection, never given an opportunity to explore his inner self in true detain n then only she'll start feeling sympathy, followed by empathy , n then may be friendship turning into love between these star crossed lovers.
That's how I visualize their future story.
As for Jalal, I believe he deserves a separate post.
Paridhi- she's so perfect for this role that it's better to say Jodha is perfect for Paridhi, rather than Paridhi is perfect for Jodha. Ekta's best gift to the audience through this show since a very very long time. So, a huge thanks to her from Indian viewers. Case closed.
