perhaps he feels guilt over the whole situation not about the incident per se; the incident is the trigger but he is having guilt for his actions leading up to the incident and some after it

The guilt is two fold:

When the incident happened, he reflexively reacts so we see an auto-pilot Ani. Arshi is the centre of his attention and he realises the likely fallout for Arshi.. at that point Jhanak isn’t in his periphery of perspective. She enters into it only when he gets to know that Shristi is blaming Jhanak for the incident. At that time, his thoughts are muddled and his state of mind is still perhaps where Jhanak’ and he had a fallout. His emotions are all mixed up and he entertains that stupid thought ( don’t ask me to justify that… I just can’t🤣) of could she have done it? He works up a sweat over what could happen and is worried sick but does nothing. Again a narrative failure here…but permit me to go along this premise or thought

So when Jhanak’s innocence is proved, he feels relief but again their relationship status doesn’t allow for any reconciliation

The next stage is Jhanak leaving BH and here the actual feeling of guilt surfaces.

People are wondering why Ani is not shown remembering the moments spent with jhanak or pining for Jhanak… the truth is he cannot…the incident and the aftermath have an end put to that. While it is not voiced in any way…he knows he failed in that bravado promise of being able to manage everything. When the incident happened, he gravitated to whom he was promising to cherish not the one he professed love to. The situation exposed him completely and he has partly ( I say partly becis picture abhi baki hain) realised why things are untenable and so he moves to take up the only honourable thing to do… honour the commitment to Arshi just as Jhanak wished for him and her didi. This is a complex thought and to me central to the conflict angle in the love story

That guilt is about Jhanak principally… his behaviour towards Arshi is his atonement for that guilt.

It’s unfortunate that the narrative hasn’t managed to convey clearly what are Ani’s feelings in this track.

This is how I am reading his actions…not saying this is what the makers are saying…😀

Its guilty , morality , sacrifice all in one ....but the way they executed it was not good .It put the male lead whom they had written as bold , standing for truth to be completely different ...

If the narrative is given from his side ....then the entire show will have to take different route , where Arshi will be out of the show...or turning her to full vamp.

And also Jhanak will again be under Anirudh's shadow. She will definitely become a dancer and gain fame , but then the show wont be able to showcase a women journey alone.

They chose victimise Arshi and tarnished Anirudh.

So both the female characters remained safe .... as most of the viewers are female...

The promo is a hint they will meet...rest will be more disaster.

Jhanak this time might not sacrifice as she needs to be famous for the story to progress..

More compared to jhanak. He want Arshi to win at any cost which was evident when he said mujhe harna pasand nahi hai. Just wish they won’t degrade him more .

As far as I am concerned I dont think he will ask her to sacrifice ...that was his character before .

But now they make Anirudh do all the worse things now , so even if he asks ....Jhanak wont sacrifice...as to show the character strong who stands up for her .And she doesnt have to also. Its not at all right. She needs to do things for herself. That is how it should be also.
