But I am sad that makers are going this route...His selfless sacrifices, love couldn't motivate her to strive for success but his one stupid mad mistake would...

Why can't they show how empowering his love was!!! Why can't they show that the power of love motivated a girl caged by her own insecurities and traumatic past..to break the shackles and shine...
