They are symbolic - it showed that every time Jhanak fell, Ani would be there to save her !

He admired her talking about her future aspirations despite knowing her circumstances and her postive outlook on life.

He admired her beauty for the first time unconsciously on the hay fall.

He admired her talent for dance and the life it imbues in the Haldi ceremony.

He admired her good nature when she thanked him for standing up for her mother.

He admired her ability to forgive on the boathouse.

He understood he was somewhat attracted to her when he saved her from the truck.

and the list goes on....

But definitive moment for me is his dream and when he questioned her about Rahul that night and his jealousy on seeing her smile uttering Rahul's name.
