Dance Forms/ Concepts you wish JDJ had explored

Me again. 😊 This time with a dance related thread. I didn't get to do this earlier and since there is like a week left, well better sooner than later as they say.

Jhalak is about dance, and this season it was at times left behind 'entertainment' by the judges and script. The two are not usually the same but nonetheless good dance is entertaining.
So onto the purpose of this thread. What dance forms or concepts did you wish to see in Jhalak.
Please note I am only talking about dance forms/concepts in general.
So for example I wanted to see ballet, flamenco, Manipuri and perhaps odissi. I don't know if anyone did odissi this season.
I would have loved to see a ballet and classical dance jugal bandi as I am curious to see how that would turn out if choreographed.
Hope to hear some cool ideas once people have returned from voting.

There were all different types of dance forms that should have been explored. Almost every choreographer opted for freestyle. I think Faisal's choreographer experimented more than any choreographer with different dance forms. He was from the old lot so kind of expected that from him. More than anything I really missed all the old choreographers such as Punit, Salman, Tushar etc. They really did experiment with different dance forms. Last season had some really amazing dances due to them. This season has been the worst in terms of choreography.

Any particular dance form you wanted to see?
Freestyle is a huge dance form in itself and is a go to dance form for the choreographers. It takes moves from all other dance forms too.
I find it hard not to compare from last season but I think we ought not to. These guys tried what they could, it didn't always work out. The others managed to package their dances together better and each have great screen presence.

Great thread!

I would have loved to see Broadway jazz, waltz, ballet, various classical styles (especially kathak!), maybe tap dancing...
Not sure all of these were shown, though.

Thanks 😊
The jazz and the waltz had been done. The kathak (well mujra and not pure kathak as I would have liked) was also attempted. Tap dancing did not come up this season I believe unless I missed an episode.

I would have wished to see some Latin American dancing like salsa or meringue! Those are dance forms which Indian audiences really haven't been exposed to. Krumping would have been interesting to see as well.

meringue and salsa have definitely not been featured. krumping is also an interesting one.
I have not been that happy with the latin dancing and I would have liked to see more ballroom dances like the foxtrot or something.

Oh, then I guess I missed some performances here and there. Who did the jazz/waltz/mujra?

I would've liked to see another bhangra (preferably with Faisal), since I found Mohit's act lacked energy and I wasn't too fond of the song selection. But good effort from Mohit.
