Jhalak is as much the choreographers' journey...

...as the artists'
I have seen a lot of people complain about how they're missing the 'amazing' choreographers from the previous seasons. I can understand where everyone is coming from but I don't remember any choreographer being present through all 8 seasons. Some of them come back, some move on in their careers, some might have other commitments in the particular year. Jhalak is not just about the artists, it's also a platform for the choreographers. So I don't see a problem if they get new/ less established faces to get them the desired exposure. The judgement is as much on the routine as on the dance. Even if the voting is on the basis of the contestant, the choreographer is as much a part of the competition.

As long as new choreos are good and bring out nice performances people will be happy but that doesn't seem to be the case this time around. I still remember when Tushar first came to JDJ people were really impressed by his choreography though he wasn't known that time 🤔

I hear you. But we can't compare new choreographers to really established ones. Tushar is an exceptional case, he is gifted in terms of visualising concepts. And I got to know only later that he has actually been around in the world of dance for a long time, way longer than some of the other choreographers of the season. Maybe he did the show for exposure. More than the contestants, who are already established in their respective fields, this is actually an opportunity for the choreographers to take a step further in their career.

I for once support the new talent😊 Why they have to be like the other old ones and its not like that they're so good..old ones had their own limitations too..New choreographers should make their own beautiful journey..But they should try all new dance forms without sticking to just lifts 🤔

I agree there! Jhalak has given them an opportunity and they should really deliver to prove themselves. However, I for one don't find the choreography as mediocre as a lot of others. It's yet to reach an extraordinary stage though specially those who have weak dancers as contestants.

I think all the choreos are talented in their own right ! So I too don't buy the argument of not having amazing choreos this time !

I don't know if you don't buy that the choreographers are not amazing or that them being new faces is not an excuse. I personally feel the choreography is fine.

Well, maybe you see something I don't then. Because I don't remember the choreography being any better in the opening two weeks for any of the previous seasons.

Some of the new pros are pretty talented, like VAIBHAV. I loved his choreography for both the acts he did with Dipika. Dipika screwed her first dance...but the choreography had great potential. Also the second one where he fused classical with western was pretty impressive.

But then again, some of the new pros are unable to bring the best outta their celeb partners, ie. Radhika's pro or Scarlet's pro. Radhika's pro literally outdanced her in their second act making her look weak and Dhiraj is unable to utilize Scarlet's talent like Puneet did with Lauren...

I do agree with you in terms of the fact that it offers exposure to them and provides an opportunity to make their careers. It's great, yes.

I'm personally finding 1 or 2 choreographers not up to the mark and, quite obviously, that puts the contestant behind. Let me not mention names here because we have some crazy fanwars going on and Mods are losing their shit over it so I'll skip that.

I'll still support the whole idea of it because a change is always nice. I just miss some of my favorites, but I guess they've moved onto bigger things which is also absolutely alright.
