I think there are many reasons for it ..may b neutral viewers have come to realise that the show follows a pattern and not necessarily the deserving wins, I mean I myself switched to watching another show because the drama comedy was becoming unbearable and more than the dance its the gimmickery thats taking centre stage .About the point of popular contestants being there I think its a misconception that telly actors drive shows rather its the shows and its content that drives them ..they are no Khans from bollywood that people will digest anything for them .And also online popularity may not translate to trp popularity they are quite independent of each other.
