Ughh I HATE That lift! 🤢 I've seen a lot of people do it and it's so gross! Especially when the girl's hands are nowhere near her legs to indicate she's holding HIS Hand from behind or whatever. 🤢 *Not just DD, it looks gross on everyone I've seen do it. - Just in case someone jumps down my throat. -_-

I personally did not find that lift vulgar. Matter of fact such thought did not even occur in my mind while I was watching the performance.

Actually same here, only when I came to this forum I realized what "vulgar" lift they were talking about...šŸ˜†...While I was watching my mind was totally on the dance, but I really didn't notice where Salman's hands were...šŸ˜›

Bips .. I think aside from the lifts, the " expressions " ( or lack of for that matter ) play a role too . ( Though your point about the lift is completely valid )

I seriously think a lot of the contetants overdo it , For example what is THIS .. 😳

her expressions..her shoulder hunching..it was literally bent upper back...while doing that salsa step..it looked so bad...if the camera angle would have been little far...couls have seen how weird it looked..

I would say revive jdj from next year to indian classical, semiclassical & folk go with a dress code.

Don't ask this question, because they cannot answer it...

Errm, this is dance. Dance expresses emotions, all sorts of it, and for that a certain amount of closeness is needed between the partners. There are 9 emotions of rasha which are even expressed in Indian classical dances, two of them being sringer and adi rasa, which expresses love and attachment of romantic type.

So why this puritan attitude towards another expression of life and its emotions I do not understand. Its a dance show, people will dance and wear costumes that allow them to dance. The costumes for international dances will be shorter and different from indian classical dances. Do you guys remember when the american choreographers came to JDJ last season and performed in samba? The dresses the girls were wearing were barely nothing. Compared to that I would say Jhalak celebs are dressed in tents.

I wonder what you guys will feel if you see temple carvings in places like ajanta illora and khajuraho. That Indian civilization seems to have perished completely.

Whats with the extra sensitive touchy feely posts labelling everything under the sun as vulgar?

Nothing will change, we will still see 10-20 topics discussing vulgarity shown by DD unless and until you start giving warning... Member are getting smarter and smarter with each passing day.. Earlier they used to differentiate between vulgarity and non-vulgarity but now they are differentiating by degree of vulgarity.. Tomorrow if DD will dance in veil just showing eyes, then they will say there was lust in her eyes

It wasn't like she did it for real šŸ˜†, it ain't harmful then. There was nothing in it to be considered as cheap, to bring out some laughs was the motive there and it's quite natural when you do a Charlie act. When would people start using their loaf šŸ¤”

I am so glad that someone pointed out how the end part of the comedy act is not "cheap" but was part and parcel of the comedy act - she was Charlie Chaplin! I'm glad we were exposed to these types of acts as obviously we are not accustomed to such broadway comedy acts - as evident by the comments on this thread.

Coming to this weekend's act, I agree that some parts of the sensual act were pretty bold - no doubt about that. But as I've said before, they are pushing the envelope. Now that we have seen even SRK kiss openly in JTHJ, I don't think that such acts would be as taboo as we all think. Also, the actual Rishi-Dimple song was pretty bold itself..

That being said, I don't live in India and didn't watch this show with my family. I understand how some people can feel uncomfortable if sitting with their families, etc. but if we can all watch JTHJ scenes, Saagar (especially the Rishi and Dimple song), Helen's old songs - believe me, her outfits were MUCH more reveling and in THOSE days, and the item songs shown these days, we should be accustomed to such acts..

Again, I'm not in some of you guys' position so understand how it can be uncomfortable for you...
