I never saw the lifts or the clothing in a vulgar light because I suppose beauty/vulgarity is in the eye of the beholder. Here are hardworking actors and choreographers focused on improving their performances and then they have to deal with ludicrous and dirty language by those on their comfy chairs typing away expert judgments while hiding behind a computer screen - now that is what I call truly vulgar.

I was truly mortified to read some of the "thoughts" on this forum. Tauba tauba tauba... hypocrisy at its BEST! In a way I love it... if the dancing is dirty, we have enough sharif people falling to worse levels in order to attack/judge them. Ahhh, the irony.

Yes, pot calling kettle black. Apparently one cannot even have an opinion without having their entire value system judged and ridiculed. I can totally understand your un-hypocritical point.

And obviously you have missed the entire jist of the discussion where we are discussing that one particular dance step does not appeal to some of us. Not the clothes, not dance in general, not the person performing it, not the profession. Just one step. You rather jump down people's throat without even bothering to understand the issue.

To everyone else, THIS is not about drashti/ salman. As much as you would like that the sun, moon, earth revolve around them, if you read the topic carefully, its not about them. At all.

If we gaze everything from vulgarity angle every action will look objectionable. From dancepoint of view the dancers has to let go what body parts are touched.

I am a salsa beginner and during my lessons if i keep minding about the closeness with my partner and where his hands might wander😳... then salsa is not for me i should stick to Bharatanatyam.

BTW i am not DD fan 🤢

:) ... So thats ok na! ... we all have different opinions and different comfort levels ... it does not mean that we are gazing anything only from some sort of a vulgarity angle ... If all of us liked the same thing then the world would be such a dull place

Actually, even I didn't notice it when I saw the performance ...but bec. I'd seen the technicals and this lift was kinda zoomed in, it caught my attention n i didn't like it..

i'm not interested in watching other dancers do the same, I find them equally horrible ! as the TM said, it's about THIS particular step and not about WHO is performing, costumes, expressions, which show etc...

Why is it always Salman and DD does all the vulgar acts and that's appreciated and when the co contestants follows, then people start justifying the first act with the later ... 😆 Flawed justification process...😆

We all know that all of the contestants are capable of being vulgar, but shouldn't the judges discredit overtly vulgar acts? Instead, they are rewarding ... That's the sad part ...p

Just look as that picture...how can a family watch it sitting together ??

Expecting the judges to stop them with the vulgar acts ? LOL instead they want it more and more... 😆 Besharam tharkey judges 🤢

When I watched the first rehearsal video I made a comment on this particular step... and I got as answer "You are interested in watching DD's every step than the DDians" 🤪 Excuse me if you will get in front of you such cheap steps then what can you do 🤪

that's the whole point..this is not "sensuous" i'm not interested in finding out who was the first one to do it and who followed..choreography on the whole , in this particular season has been ridiculous, crossing the line of decency..and it's not that if the same is being done in DID or some other show, it's justified...judges praising them is annoying 🤢

Oh I read it but perhaps you need to read what you wrote again? You are complaining about the lift- are you not? When a post is put up that shows a lack of knowledge of dance in general it shows that it is about a value system.

Now I have to give an example... my friend and I appreciate Greek and Roman art and he once mentioned that when he sees the nudes, he does not see it in a dirty/vulgar light. At the time I found it odd but now I understand why he said it. Then there are those who would put a chaddar on the statue to cover it for its "obscenity". It is not about perspective or exposure. It is so much more than that. Should the artists have sculpted figures with clothes to cater to the masses' sensibilities?

My 2 cents... most people cannot see past the obvious... which I guess is fine if that is how they wish to stay.
