The format of bringing in wildcards

Hey guys,

I think the idea of bringing NEW contestants as wildcards started in Season 5 of JDJ. Before this, they used to bring the eliminated contestants and they competed to be chosen as the wildcards.

My opinion on this matter is that I think the older format was much better and fair. I think the celebs that are already eliminated, who may be good at dancing but might not as popular, get another chance to show their talent. I remember in Season 2 this is how Prachi Desai came back and in Season 4 Yana Gupta came back. And both of these ladies were wonderful. They improved as their respective seasons went now.

My only issue with this new format is the new celebs come into the competition to the stage where the rest of the contestants have already worked hard to get to. And on the other hand...we might get some really good new wildcards (like Rithvik Dhanjani and Rashmi Desai) but they might not have the same chance of winning because wildcards rarely win in reality shows from what we have seen.

So what do you guys think? Would love to hear your opinions. Also let's please try not to fight. 😊

I quite like the idea of a newer lot given a chance to enter as wildcard because the ones eliminated obviously didn't do well enough to hold on to their position.

The good thing is that contestants in bottom 2 do get a chance to redeem themselves by one last performance and the final decision is of the judges rather than the audience. [I believe this wasn't the case prior to season 5. Correct me if I am wrong.]

What they could do is strike a balance with half being old contestants and half being new. And the best out of the lot gets to enter or re-enter.
