There are a couple of counter points to your logic and some to support. Following are my points first supporting your point:-

1. It is channel's/production house's point of view who they deem as a celebrity contestant and who as choreographer.
2. No two celebrities have similar dancing abilities like an actor is more accustomed to working with choreographers and dancing than a cricketer or a singer. But they all are celebrities and have their own fan following.

Now my counter arguments:-

1. There is difference between a trained dancer and a professional dancer. Shakti is a professional dancer.
2. Shakti was, not sure if still is, an aspiring choreographer. Unlike any dancer she has to be aware of as well as be an exponent of many forms of dancing not a limited knowledge of just a dance form or two as a trained dancer have and I am not even talking about the untrained ones here.
3. The other choreographers has no other professional input as far as choreography is concerned which is not true in this case until and unless it is ensured that Shakti would not have any say as far as the concept or choreography is concerned.

Either way I am not concerned as I would only like to sit and enjoy the program.

NB: Before I forget, I was always of the opinion that last year Drashti had an unfair advantage of being with Salman, the reason being Salman was a celebrity in his own rights so his fans' votes gets added to the account of Drashti, in last year's contest he should have been a celebrity contestant himself. Not sure What fan following Tushar has this year.

True but being a choreographer gives a huge advantage to the team. They have multiple advantages first they can have multiple concepts and story lines further they have no limitation as far as dancing is concerned and finally none of us knows what all form she is comfortable with.

Bang on Chetna I have nothing to add but I do have a Question 😆

My problem is that why are all the other trained dancers on the show acting all aloof about themselves being trained ? o.O I mean if you're just say it no need to be all like "I'm not trained/I haven't danced in a while/I'm not a good dancer :O

Just say you're trained no ones gonna arrest you -_-

Love Shakti Mohan :*

Sorry if I sound rude but tell me If a professional dancers want to dance just for herself instead of choreographing it for others than ..she don't have the right to participate... If she want people to know her by her name not by choreographing some one ..its unfair.. just because she is a star because of her dance her addition in jdj is unfair... Its about stars n celebs n i can proudly say whether she have achieved is Cuz of her dance n like a actor cricketer singer a dancer can also take part

A dancing star can't be part of jhalak dikhlaja dancing with stars ??

Being a trained dancer and professional is different. the names you mentioned are trained dancer but Shakti is a professional. WINNER of DID. And i dont think other than Sreesanth any of the contestants in this season are TRAINED dancer. I'm not sure about Andy and Mouni. And yeah even Sophie.

Even when they brought Lauren last year.. it was not fair.
JDJ should either bring all professional dancers or all non-dancer.
They an oldie, a child, a comedian, a sports person, a professional. how is it any fair.
I dont have any issue with Shakti. she is an awesome dancer i myself had voted for her during DID. what i dont like is the basis of selection of the contestants.

do you even knoe what jhalak is all about ?
then lemme tell you .. the tagline of jhalak itself says "dancing with the stars"
lauren was the lead in the movie ABCD before jhalak had started which in turn made her an actress cum dancer
whereas shakti is the protagonist of the daily soap which airs on channel V .. so she is defo an actress cum dancer ...
jhalak has dancers , cricketers , musicians etc etc ! as they all come in the category of "stars "
