So your claim that I am saying it cos my favourite is a trained dancer doesn't stand here.

I wrote the whole post as an unbiased opinion putting ahead my reasons and not simply as a fan.

About the points that you made that competition should be between equals- yes- agreed, but tell me, aren't Sushant and other soap stars at a disadvantage as well cos they don't even get time to rehearse that much? Then why hasn't the channel kept either all soap stars or none to create a balance in the competition?

Cos they want a random mix! And that is my point.

None of us would have watched JDJ in the beginning episodes if there had only been non-dancers like Akhil. Not many were fans of Chang's dancing too. These people grew on us slowly in the episodes. But we wouldn't have gone ahead and kept watching the show if there had been some good or at least average performances in the beginning.

I know there is no conclusion to this debate, it has happened in the past too. I just wanted to clear out that its not as if since my favourite is a dancer so I'm favouring this trend. Its nothing like that.

@ Bold : Thats xactly my point............The chosen contenders are not for some compitition.............
Even if they want to improve themselves..........Cool........Why thers is any need for all these vote-outs n all..........I would love to watch it as a show rather than a compitition.........
Yes......I think from now on........I would do that.........That will be good for me...........😃........
@ Blue : K dear........Thats true no point in doing debate........But,I really hope there is improvement in atleast some dance forms & themes........I wanna see Indian Classiacal..........😊

Oh, not to forget the celeb appearances to promote their films.👎🏼

Yes....Very true.............
Hope to see something really good & different in coming days..........Really really hope so...........😃

Here I agree with you 100%. I had said this thing in the third week itself (in the folk dance round) that it would be nice to have some classical dancing in the later stages of the competition.

Although I said it earlier that I'm still pumped up about the show and eager to watch it every week and I still stand by that, but I have to admit that the theme/form given nowadays are not what I expected them to be at this stage in the competition. Rather than giving themes for concept (like colours, 'Madhuri theme'-though I enjoyed it, relationships etc.) I would prefer they give dance styles (like street dancing, salsa-tango which they were given earlier, folk dance etc.) or challenges (aerial act, shadow dancing etc.) and the contestants can decide if they want to do hardcore dancing or a theme/concept/story using the given dance form.

Cos what is happening nowadays is that when concept based rounds are there then all contestants try and perform their strengths. (like contemporary dancing, of which I think many in the forum are fed up now.😆 ) Sometimes it does happen that the contestants try and inculcate a difficult dance form in their concept (like Sushant used flamenco in the colours wala concept instead of using something he already knew) but usually they all perform the form which they are strong in. Here we cannot blame them exactly cos they will obviously use their strong points to win the competition, but the JDJ team should specify a different dance form along with the concept (like was done in week two when the contestants were told to do tango and salsa in themes like horror, romance, suspense etc.)

I agree with ur points about trained dancers being on the show. I mean there's too much a large spectrum when it comes to the level of dancing amongst the contestants. Take that boxer guy n Shekhar vs. almost perfect Sushant. I love Sushant n he's one of my favs but if he was to be on this show then it would have been more fun if the ppl amongst him were at a similar level.... The casting directors have done done a very poor job this year in the desperate greed for trps.😡

This is actually the sore point about this season! First, they dropped many contestants to make the show more "high-profile" after Madhuri came in (and I am wondering if it was all worth the trouble, she is definitely not one of the best judges this show has seen) ....then the ones they got, were not of the same level or even nearly so. It is like starting a race with some sprinters standing many steps ahead of the start line. Secondly, by now it has become clear that some pairs were brought in on the basis of their personal equation: Sushant-Ankita, Krushna-Ragini, and no wonder rumours are flying about Sushant "threatening" the channel to bring back Ankita. He may not have done it, but if anyone suspects foul play in Ankita's return, he would be the first suspect. All this has spoilt the atmosphere and dampened enthusiasm about the show.

i agree with you guys... there was a CLEAR imbalance between the contestants. where sushant, ragini, ankita, yana were stronger in terms of skill, ability and partner, the others like akhil, shekar mahi have lost out. right from the beginning itself, it was kind of obvious who was going to be the TOP 5 and it wasnt going to be shekar, akhil, renuka..
so yes, they should have brought in contestants like reshmi desai, etc who have potential, skill, and revelant fan base.
and i dont get why the show was re-vamped for madhuri? her job is to judge, does it matter WHO she judges? and so far she has been way to neutral, borrowing all her remarks from remo.

So true guys. I also felt that somehow this stark imbalance in the dancing abilities did make it a less entertaining season due to the predictability of who will always be on top and who will be bottom. Hopefully the makers have learnt something from this season and wont repeat this blunder again.
