I just gave an example.....Not that they should follow that 2 marks rule....its just that there should be marks for each thing...so that when you cut you are fair to all. And if the dance is such that there is no need of lip-sync...then its for their gain...they'll be provided marks...If they did that with grace. A performance on an instrumental with no lip-syncing is not easy...that requires a lot of grace...you cannot open your mouth and breathe.... and yes this type of Schemes are there in many contests.

I am sorry if you misunderstood me, what I ment was that conceptually what you are saying is perfect, but in practical perposes, such things can go wayward. Like when they say to some performance, in which the judges say that lip sync was missing and deduct marks according, to another if there is no lip sync and they dont say anything and does not cut marks, it is not necessary that they are partial. Like even if a song is going in the background, people might be enacting it, which might or might not require lip sync or if someone is doing kuchipudi or kathak they do not have to say the bol, so might be the case with other dance forms as well. Of course I would always like to hear the reason from judges why they have deducted some marks. One thing I would agree with you, which you have mentioned in another post, that sometimes I have seen judges to be linient towards someone who is percieved weak and extra tough to someone percieved strong, whereas people comes to dance off on basis of marks aas well as votes hence they should be consistent.

that's d point innit? who cares for the judges opinion? tell me, how many people do u think will watch the show and then actually vote based on judges opinion? people who vote, vote for favourites... however, if there r ppl who believe in these judgements. it isnt fair right? for teh judges themselves to have favourites.. yea, and i read that synopsis thing.. they had to give a characteristic for each contestant, so karan= mr. popular.. like gauhar being called best dancer all the times gets onto my nerves, this also comes as a close second..
