There should be Standard Reasons for which marks should be deducted...like No-Sync, Missing-steps, No lip-Sync....etc etc......... Then cut 1-1 or may be 2-2 marks for these things. And if the contestant is repeating these same mistakes weeks after weeks...then this should be considered. And this rule should be applied to all the contestants not for some particular ones.

Or its better they should give particular marks for each thing. Like out of 10 ...2marks for choreography, 2 marks for lip-sync, 2 marks for expressions, 2 marks for costumes, 2 marks for sync. In that way if you're cutting marks for a particular reason you'll be fair with all contestants. And even we can point out that there was no lip-sync so cut his/her marks. Otherwise they just cut 5-10 marks for 1 particular thing (even if the whole performance was very good)...while forgiving the other if he/she forgets to do the same thing....which ends up with a huge difference of marks between the two and which is obviously not fair.

At the end of the day most of the ppl just look at the marks and not the performance.

In todays performance 2nd round...BB was not lip syncing.. no expressions....(im not talking about the 1st performance) Also BB n Sonia were not in sync....but he got marks approx same as HK...who did much better than BB.
Now what do we expect from judges?

hey, good topic...
this has been the problem with judges since day 1.. they have different marking schemes for the contestants..
since the beginning, baichung usually does not do lip sync.. his expressions r non existent..foot work is zero..he has come till here only because of brilliant, intelligent choreography from sonia..
today, he deserved every bit of his 29..there was foot work, lip sync, expressions..a complete performance..
however, 2nd performance, i was shocked..do the judges actually mean to say that baichung was as good as hard kaur? and honestly what is the point in giving good marks all the time because of intelligent choreography?

There should be a difference in marks when one forgets 1 thing and the other forgets 2-3 things to do. But here opposite happens...the one forgetting 2-3 things gets more marks which is not fair.

I Agree with u Rikz...I wish d judges were as intelligent as u..though I didn't watch 2days episode but this thing has been going on for quite a long time...this is unfair....but still some people believe that d judges r unbiased....such judges r lucky 2 have supporter....I m not bashing d judges just giving my POV on their judgment which I m sorry is biased...n I have many points 2 prove it....

The method you are suggesting logically looks good, but there is an inherent problem with the system and that is dance is not absolute. It is abstract. Like various dance forms have various conventions, like some of the western dances do not need to have lip sync, so is the case with some of the classical indian dances. Also choreography and the way it was carried out carries a lot of weightage, which again cant be quantified. Hence you would always feel this type of descripencies. Just to give you an example in my school days, I always thought my teacher to be partial towards the class toppers and gives them more marks than they deserve and less marks to me. Now when I look back I can appritiate why she did what she did.

I just gave an example.....Not that they should follow that 2 marks rule....its just that there should be marks for each thing...so that when you cut you are fair to all. And if the dance is such that there is no need of lip-sync...then its for their gain...they'll be provided marks...If they did that with grace. A performance on an instrumental with no lip-syncing is not easy...that requires a lot of grace...you cannot open your mouth and breathe.... and yes this type of Schemes are there in many contests.

in a situation like this..i really dont understand how fair it is to have judges marks as 50%, especially when they r so inconsistent..better keep only audience voting since the audience will vote for those they want to see..
anyways, it looks like a BB, HK and KSG final to me, even if karan comes in the dance off 2mrw..somehow, i doubt jhalak will want to let go of their top money earner before the final.
