Q You are back to anchoring Jhalak. Was your comeback pre-planned.
The channel had approached me to host the show at the beginning of third season. But I could not do it at that time as I was shooting for two films. But besides date problems, price was also an issue and hence things didn't work out. But since I was the original choice and they approached me again I took it up.
Q Didn't they ask you to take part in the show this time?
I don't want to take part in reality shows. I don't mind hosting them because I enjoy anchoring. I don't even mind watching them but being a part of it doesn't excite me. I did Yeh Hai Jalwa only because of my friendship with the producer.
Q Are you fine with doing the show mid-way?
I am okay with it. It doesn't bother me. On the contrary, it should bother Shiv Pandit, the anchor whom Rohit replaced. I wouldn't have liked to be replaced by someone.
Q Do you miss your last year's co-anchor Mona Singh?
I miss her. We shared an excellent on-screen chemistry. Mona is a chatter box and has an amiable personality. But Shweta is also quite a pleasant person and I hope to conjure up good chemistry with her as well.
Q You resurrected your failed acting career in films through television. Don't serials interest you anymore?
I have acted enough on television and lately it has lost its sheen and challenge for me. But I don't mind hosting chat and game shows because anchoring is an extension of my personality.
