Karan can be a good performer but I never saw him using his full potential on any performance....Even his choreographer Nicole does not give him steps sometimes which are as per the song or dancing style or new or creative.... Whereas in Baichung's performance, you can find yourself enjoying it (if & only if you completely forget that you are Karan or Baichung's fan at that moment)... Baichung's performances are always pleasure to watch....Sonia's choreography is also very effective and innovative... She knows what are Baichung's plus and minus points.... So she tries to show his plus points and hide his minus points in her choreography without making it usual....She knows that nobody is perfect here including KSG & Hk...The same applies to Baichung and honestly even more than others....
In many KSG performances, some common steps, lifts and style are used which I am sure many of us has seen earlier....Khuda Jaane concept was good but the choreography especially the lifts were like " I-have-seen-it-earlier-somewhere"...Also they were not as per the standard of the concept & the song as well...
Now the instances of KSG's 1st & jugalbandi performances.... They were terrible....It is an honest statement whether anyone believes it or not.... I could not make out that what he was dancing in his 1st performance as he was moving around the dance floor with style and only sometimes moving his body & feet with Nicole. This kind of performance is only for stage shows like for example Sallu Bhai does (no offence to anyone) where charm overpowers dancing and not for a competition. Also what kind of jugalbandi was going on in that jugalbandi episode???? It was more of a cross-cultural group dance than a jugalbandi....Hard Kaur's & Baichung's performances were the good examples of jugalbandi....
Coming to lip-sync, KSG was doing an Indian dance that too folk where lip-sync is almost necessry....Baichung was doing Salsa in blindfold where lip-sync with the song is not required...So I dont think marks can be cut on that.... Baichung himself said that he didn't sing thats why judges said that 'ok maaf' otherwise judges would not have pointed it themselves as they are very well aware that lip-sync is not mandatory in salsa.... Is anyone expecting the judges to say on camera that "No Beta, lip-sync is not mandatory in salsa. You have done nothing wrong"....So they just said 'Aapko maaf"....
Anyone still having doubt can go though the online videos of salsa done by international dancers... The salsa dancers usually do not lip-sync even on the songs having lyrics or words....
Now coming to the fumbling in the blindfold performances, Karan was usually staying in one place and Nicole was dancing around him.... He made that area his own comfort zone in that perfromance...Rarely he stepped out of that in his performance..... It was also pointed out by other contestants....Also the salsa steps were very plain and common.... Whereas Baichung performed turns which are difficult while in blindfold and he was also dancing around Sonia like Sonia was dancing around him.... He also danced for falling down which was part of the step and performance when 'Kisi ki mohabbat' line was sung... He fumbled in between a little but he & Sonia never broke the synchronisation they had.... They were perfectly in sync....
Nicole's black ribbon was not in place after loosening and even if she was able to see something below the ribbon, she could have ignored that and continued with her dancing... But after the ribbon loosened, she was shown to lift her chin in the rest of her dance.... nobody said that she left loose her black ribbon intentionally but after the unexpected incident, her chin was up and probably she was able to see few things... That does not mean that KSG & Nicole came unprepared and did this trick to make their performance work.... No judge ever said that....So stop bashing the judges for that!!!
Judges say something to Nicole then people are saying that judges insulted her credibility but if some people in this forum bash those judges who are few of the top dancers of India that they are biased then it is ok.... Wow!!! How Convenient!!!!
Earlier I didn't know that Baichung is part of JDJ3....I thought Vijender Singh is partipipating..... When I watched the 1st episode,I saw only the performaces of Hard Kaur & Ram at the last as I was busy with my work.... When I saw Baichung sitting in the Green Room, I asked my cousin what he is doing here.... He said Baichung is also a contestant and his performance was over by that time.... On seeing him & Mohinderji as contestants, I thought "why the hell these people came here to make a mockery of themselves? Can't they have anything else to do?"
Next day, on saturday, I watched the repeat telecast of the that episode. When I watched Baichung's performance, I burst into laughter...It appeared more of a comedy and robotic dance... In those days, my cousin was also preparing for a solo dance in his school's annual day.... After 3-4 days since I saw the 1st episode, my cousing was showing me his dance which was not that great....I just commented that 'You dance like Baichung Bhutia' and he felt offended that I compared him to a complete non-dancer....But since the prop-round, both me & my cousin are consistently surprised on Baichung's performances.... Just a day after the 'jugalbandi round', my cousin performed his solo dance in his function and did very well.... After we reached home, he said " U told me that I danced like Baichung Bhutia, see today I danced like him only and the result is in front of you".....
