Episode Discussion:: 18-19 August

Hallo Friends,

I found today's episode quite boring to be honest. All the performances were forgettable. Usually I watch at least a couple of acts more than once, but today I don't think I liked any of the performances enough to go back and watch again.

I usually love watching Isha dance but the performance was strictly average today. I think this was partly due to Salman's injury, so it's understandable. Also, Isha was doing Hip-Hop for the first time on the show if I'm not wrong, and she seemed a bit nervous. The marks were fair.

Gurmeet and Shampa usually do quite well so I was stunned to see a below average performance from them. It happens though; it isn't possible to be at the top of your game every time. I read somewhere (I think it was on Colours' website) that Gurmeet and Shampa were having creative differences, so that they may be the reason, but I don't know how true this news is.

Avneet and Darsheel put up the best act of the day. It was a mix of various dance styles so it was fairly enjoyable to watch. Jai is a brilliant choreographer and I hope Darsheel doesn't get eliminated next week (as per the news that has been doing the rounds).

Shibani and Puneet try something new every week and I applaud them for that, but I think the performance was slightly overrated by the judges. Shibahi is most certainly a good dancer and the belly dance good, but it wasn't great so I would have given a maximum of 25 marks.

The group dance was enjoyable and I think everyone did well. I thought both Gurmeet and Isha deserved more than 4 and 6, respectively.

I hope the performances will be better tomorrow. I feel like the dancing level has gone down this week.

group dance marks are awarded according to ranks. Who ever tops gets 10, second one gets 8, third one 6 and fourth one 4. so its more like percentile marking system.

Oh ok. I thought they could award the same scores to more than one pair though. I felt that Isha deserved an 8 and Gurmeet a 6. Darsheel getting 10 and Shibani getting 8 seemed fair.

First of all, I'm happy the scoring was better this episode...the judges' comments have also improved so +1 for that. Isha-Salman: It was totally average and forgettable. For the first time, I saw the judges give Isha some much needed and CORRECT criticism. Her main problems are her lack of expressions and the fact that she doesn't get involved in her performances as such..she's a concious performer which is essentially why some people find it hard to connect to her. How can you enjoy a dance performance if the dancer herself doesn't seem to? So hopefully, now she will work on those and become better. Nice to see Salman back and I hope he's taking good care of his neck + back.

High light was obviously katrina and salman. specially katrina doing her belly dance move. I am not rilli a fan of katrina dancing but boy she can move her belly. She is truly hardworking girl. the amount of hard work she put to learn belly dancing so well.

Overall a ho-hum episode but the silver lining was the fair scoring by the judges

For an overly hyped episode, this was pretty... Flat? I don't know what other word would describe it. The way the promos were going I was really expecting some real good and energetic performances! But alas, we don't always get what we wish for...

Isha/Salman - I know Remo praised the concept but really, REALLY? You get one of the finest and most energetic jodis and you turn it around and ruin the presentation? I don't know how everyone else perceived this theme but I expected identical get ups to actors and a little if not all the signature moves? This act was BORING. Isha is a great dancer - only when it comes to particular dance forms, otherwise she's average. We don't actually realize but Bollywood dancing is actually quite difficult. I really don't understand why they made themselves into these old people. Okay they were trying to say even oldies can't help but dance to Govinda but really, why couldn't they just be simple and actually look the part?!?! They say half a battle is won with just looking like you're there to kill. Isha and Salman can't do basic Bollywood, I would've given even less marks than what they got.

Darsheel/Avneet - and my point is prOved. These two adapted to the whole Raj and Simran look and did some of SRK's signature moves, that's the whole point! They weren't great but well deserved marks and Avneet is really better than Darsheel, glad she's finally getting all the compliments and everything she deserves! This performance was enjoyable and I didn't have to FFWD!

Gurmeet/Shampa - I'm going to get bashed but I didn't see no dancing. It was a lot of noise and a very poor performance. I didn't see any dancing, it was all jumping around and I really didn't get it. Why would you choose Shaahid and Kareena, they're not really as popular as they're made out to be. A couple of hit movies together and they're a famous Jodi? Really? Gurmeet could've chosen something more apt to him, some actor who he could've portrayed better. Fitting marks.

Shibani/Puneet - I was somewhat disappointed. Again, Salman has SO many signature moves, not one was used. They could've chosen another song of Katrina and Salman. This one just didn't do it for Shibani, she looked amazing but the dance was 'ok'. The belly dancing part wasn't that much either, she didn't even do the main thing you do when belly dancing! The side to side! It was very basic! Poor song choice ok dancing. Ok marks.

Group performance - I'm happy with the judges decision, it was a good performance but really wish Gurmeet, Shampa, Isha and Salman did something more, felt like they did the lifts just cos they can't dance to Bollywood.

Bharti - Katrina, I'm actually appalled how everyone's making a big deal of this. It was just something done in jest, jeez take a chill pill. Does Bharti really think she's better than Katrina? Don't think so. Would Katrina really get mad cos Salman picked Bharti? Umm hello? It's all a big joke and I wish people would stop taking stuff so seriously! Some enjoy Bharti some don't, ok - fine; move on! Who cares if she can't dance or makes fun of her weight? She's funny and that's what we want to see, funny people. I watch this show for entertainment, I don't care who wins! Bharti is entertaining and my simple mind likes her simple jokes! Gosh just let her be, it's the channels decision who they want and who they don't, they're responsible for the ratings at the end of the day, so why should they bother if a little fraction of people feel angry and distasteful of Bharti's weight jokes? I'm actually glad that she can laugh AT herself - that in itself is HUGE.
