she totally deserved it
Gotta disagree with you here. Gurmeet and Shampa's robotic was much better technically and conceptually. It had the sci-fi aspect, a bit of cutesy romance and pathos at the end, the body language and expressions were consistent and it was a near-flawless performance, the only one of GC's that I think truly deserved the 30, and definitely his best so far. Shibani's was not as smooth and she fell out of character more than once because her body language suffered. Her cuts and body isolation were not really very clean (except in a few parts), and Punit's choreography was good, but not consistent. He threw in some Bollywood-y hip movements in the middle that were distinctly un-robotic, and that felt really jarring to me.
I had issues with the concept too because I couldn't fathom why the Jhalak trophy figures would be doing robotic when the aesthetic of the sculptures is so graceful, and the whole body is moulded as one continuous form. P&S' costumes and makeup were modelled on this too and did nothing to help them. Where does body isolation, which is the technical base of robotic fit with those figures? I just felt like this performance had a disconnect of all the key elements. They wanted to do something new and cool, they wanted a fancy concept and they wanted a song that nobody would expect, check, check and check...but they forgot to check if these elements made sense when put together in one act. 😕
