Garba is a form of traditional Gujarati dancing. It involves making a circle & during Navratri, you dance around Amba Mataji. Garba is mostly comprised of snaps & claps but the fast garbas can be AMAZING. In conjunction with garba is raas, which is also called dandiya, or dandiya raas. That involves playing with 2 (usually wooden) sticks & hitting them with a partner. As with garba, fast raas is AMAZINGGG!!! 😃 Navratri, I am pretty sure, is the prayer to Amba Mataji by dancing for 9 nights...aka Nav=9 Ratri=Nights. I sound like a freaking Guj dictionary, but that's the information. 😆
