I believe that Mr. Attitude Armaan is unfairly winning more accolades than he deserves....hence, I thought I would piss off many on this forum by
daring to cite reasons why I consider him a nice, but flawed human being who has made many mistakes too! đ Just to make life more exciting!!!!!đ
FOllowing are some comments I frequently bang against:
Armaan's Fans: The producers of the show are unduly unfair to Armaan/Apoorva
Kitty's Korner: I beg to differ. For most of last year, he was the
villain of the piece. He lied, cheated, and broke many a heart! But this was not a delibrate attempt to malign Armaan or Apoorva's image (as I infer from many antogonistic comments against the makers of JJKN).
On the contrary, Armaan's image has constantly improved over the
years. Aside from Jassi, his was the only character that underwent a
very interesting tranformational graph - from being a ruthless,
heartless business man, he turned a new leaf as the sincere lover
whose every heart-beat spelt Jassi! It was a very realistic
progression and one that the audience welcomed unanimously. I thus
fail to see how the producers have been unfair towards Armaan.Friend, the producers of this show are extremely unfair to everybody other than their own pockets. Whether it is Arman, Jassi, Mallika or Purab, all characters are equally maligned by them. The last blow was the non happened marriage and the justification given by Tarun Katyal that Jassi Ran away because Arman doesn't deserve her. People are angry because the producers treated the audience as stupid.
Regarding Apoorva as an actor, if not for JJKN he would have been
forgotten as the sidekick of SRK in Pardes. This show has made him a
household name. The producers have given Apoorva a role-of-a-lifetime
- an opportunity to sharpen his acting skills and display versatility. Ergo, I believe that his fans must be grateful instead of unfairly harping on them for neglecting his character!I hope Apurva star in some other show so that his fans get over the heartbreak of JJKN tragedy.
Armaan's Fans: Armaan is worshipped by his fanatics as a flawless man
who could do no wrong.
Kitty's Korner: Far from it!
1) For one, he comes across as extremely impulsive.
I* From Day 1 at GM, he has rarely made any rational decisions (hell,
he did not make any decisions, what with Ms.Astute Walia saving his
ass each time!)......he always thought in the heat-of-the-moment,
melodramatically tried to convince his peers, and later hid, lied, and
regretted!
*Marrying Mallika: Why are his fans blaming Jassi for Aryan's anger
against Armaan? I accept that Jassi was partially responsible for his
emotional condition, but he married Mallika on his own will. Neither
did Jassi give him this 'brilliant' idea of revenge nor did Mallika
expect this turnaround! Worse, Armaan did not deem it fair to have an
open conversation with his wife BEFORE the wedding. Again, he worked
irrationally! Now, he has to have the guts to face the wrath of a
rightfully anguished brother!!! I am sorry Armaan (and his fans), but
I believe that YOU were SOLELY responsible for this condition! You
could have taken revenge on your own instead of using Mallika and then
discarding her so ruthlessly!
* Preparing a fake death certificate of Ms. Walia - this is the last
straw thus far! What the hell was he thinking? Again, he did not consider the consequences of his action. Instead of tracking Jassi down and forcing her to hand over her resignation and power of attorney, he
kills her just because she is absent for 7 days? How absurd is this!
His illogical decision has only broken the hearts of his employees and
put HIM in danger. I won't be surprised if a lawsuit is stamped on
him and he is sent to prison! LolzzzzâŚâŚ.
2) For another, he never completely trusted Jassi!
Ok, Jassi gets no sympathy points from me! I look down upon her and
will continue to do so! BUT, one redeeming factor was that she has
only loved ONE MAN her entire life! She'd rather dream of Armaan
forever than marry a Purab who loves her wholeheartedly! Moreover,
ever since he confessed his love, she has almost blindly trusted him!
Recall when Rhea slapped a false sexual harrassment lawsuit against
Armaan! Although Jassi questioned him once, she always implicitly
trusted him! However, Armaan never seemed to fully trust Jassi.
Even knowing that Jassi has never posed vulgarly, he believed his
parents when Jassi's scantily-clad pictures were displayed all over
the city. His lack of trust pre-wedding was also not fully
explained. Jassi has made it clear forever that she loved only him.
Fully aware of her genuine, deep love, how then could he not for once
consider that maybe this is a ruse to separate them? In fact,
Jassi has more reason to be suspicious because of Armaan's cassanova
past. Jassi has never ever looked at any other man romantically! How
can he so blatantly distrust her then?
Of course, other less significant flaws that I find in him:
a) His lack of interest in diligently learning the ropes of business - if not for being Puru's son, I doubt this guy would have risen in the business world. Not because he lacks business accumen. I understand that
everyone learns through experience, but Armaan seemed to want the
results without working hard! FOr instance, KOhinoor was a short-cut
decision that was obviously illegal! And, quite simply, he and his
friend Raj spent more time flirting than learning the ropes of being
the highest management of a prestigious fashion house! I hope that changes in the coming episodes!
b) His disrespect towards his family - except for some rare moments of
love towards his dad, I find him so emotionally detached from his mom,
sis and dad!
c) His tendency to befriend extreme emotions - I have never seen
Armaan react to situations in a neutral manner........
In short, I do not hate Armaan....but I do not find him as wronged or
as flawless as most on IF seem to claim!
Oh, please don't shoot me...hehe....these thoughts just burst
forth....I am sure most of you will disagree with me, but I had to
'un'burden my heart! hehehOh dear! you have got it all. We all love Arman not because he is flawless, but because he is very much flawed. His character was a refreshing change from all goody good heros and heroines. He was portrayed as a young man with all the fallies and mischieves of youth, but who was willing to accept his mistake and take the trouble to correct them. Even in JJKN, all the other major characters are portrayed saintly. Purab was next to God, Jassi never made mistakes, she was the epitome of so called sanskar. You won't find People like Purab in real life but Armans are existing very much in this world. That is why that character is so much loved.
All said and done, all the characters as well as the viewers are responsible for their predicaments. Arman is quite impulsive that is why he married Mallika. Jassi, well , I don't want to talk about a coward. Mallika could very well have told that she didn't want to marry Arman. She knew very well that Arman didn't love her. She went through all this with her eyes wide open. And we audience are free to switch off our TVs any time we want. Remotes are in our hands. So there is no point in blaming any one.
If you make your own bed, you will have to sleep on it.
