Thank you so much Blyti, Tanny, Gillu, Meena, Cutie, Vimz, Maru, Bindi, Neelam and Tina for your loving words. I am really touched and fortunate to have friends like you all.
Ok, let me answer Blyti's questions one by one. When I think of the new friends that I have made this year, the 3 bengali musketeers immediately come to mind – Anu, Such and Tanny. I got to know them even better when we set up the Bengali learning centre.
Anu, who corrects my tooti-footi Bengali ever so gently. I got all protective over her when the first episode of Kaajal was aired. She had offered to write the updates but somebody else put it up before her. I rolled back my sleeves, ready to defend her – wrote to the mod that how dare anybody other than Anu write the update. I shouldn't have worried for she is a dada on that forum now. 😆
Such, my dear little sister – thodi si pagli, par bahut pyaari. Itna apnapan shayad mujhe apni real sister se bhi na mila ho. 😳
Tanny, my golu-molu laddoo, my mishti dushto mein – out of the blue she came to our forum and within days she was a goldie 😆 She is one of the gallant members of this forum who even today posts her replies on every single thread 👏
Vimz – another new friend, who's posts on the forum lead you to think that she is a teenager, but is actually such a strong and intelligent woman that I am totally in awe of her.
Blyti and Tina with whom I have exchanged just a few pms but still feel I know them extremely well through their regular posts. Blyti, I bow to your writing skills and for continuing the jjkn saga long after it had ended. I am sorry I missed out on a whole lot of episodes as I was extremely busy and hence lost the plot.
As for
Tina, we have so much in common – we love Janda, dislike Purab, even got married on the same day (different year of course). The only thing that's different is that she sings like a nightingale. If I start singing you'd think that somebody was strangling a donkey. 😆
Lashy and Bindi – I used to call them hunterwalli but when I got to know them I realized that they are one of the sweetest people on earth. And because Lashy lives in UK, I keep thinking that Bindi also lives here. 😆
Puni, I did not realize until recently that this quiet little thing is a big badmaash!!!
Nish, the cutest and loveliest girl on the forum, whom I have come to know more ever since she became a mother. She must be the newest mamma on our forum. 😳
Hema - our romance queen and Apu ki Meera. You have a heart of gold and I hope Gannu bhaiya gives you all the happiness in life that you truly deserve.
Momo - She reminds me of a pretty little japanese doll. We both loved to watch JLH and guiltily watched kekta's KS for a few episodes until we both realized that kekta soaps were indeed puke-puke. 😆
Now the second question – old friends to whom I become closer – without any doubt, the first name that springs to my mind is my taporan
Minna. Whenever something happens in my life whether tragic or comic, I have to turn to her – we have shared many a laugh as well as tears. She was the first person I turned to when JJKN ended and I could not hold back my tears; she was also the first person I laughed with when I made that huge blooper. A lot of members think of us as one and I am not surprised.
Then there is my ideal
Neelam whom I have always looked up to - I truly admire her guts and fortitude;
Maru – who is still an enigma for me – I don't know whether to be in awe of this schoolteacher or to get carried away by her pranks;
Madhu – my soul sister, with the sweetest and the warmest of hearts. We have shared much and I hope will continue to share for a long time to come;
Anju – another sweetheart whom I am coming to know more and more with each passing day. You guys are my lifeline and my life would be incomplete without you.
Buffie – now here I am at a total loss. With all the others I know where I stand – either I am a friend or an older sister. With Buffie I'm not so sure. Am I her friend, advisor or the father who sits in the confession box?????? 😕 😆 Anyway, I guess relationships without a name are sometimes the sweetest. She calls me her guide. On the contrary, I have learned much from her.
As for the members I miss – I sorely miss
Aabha, Aarti, Deepa and Prachi. Aabha makes an appearance once in a while but Deepa and Prachi have vanished completely. I still have them on my buddy list, hoping that perhaps one day they will come back.
Members who I would have liked to know better –
QT, who I lovingly call cutie – hope you don't mind;
Kp, Priya, Moni, Tina, Blyti, Tisha, Sonia,
Gillu…..the list is endless – if only I had more time.
Love you all 🤗 🤗
