| We've won! Hussain and Tina with the Nach Baliye 2 trophy | A year ago, Tina never imagined facing the camera or being in the spotlight. But life has changed dramatically for Hussain's better half since Nach Baliye 2 happened. As the couple inched towards the finishing line, Tina was constantly praised not only for her dancing skills but her ability to express emotions through their acts. Her dark solo performance on the Zinda title track wowed Kunal Kohli so much, that he even suggested she take up acting seriously. Now that she's taken home the trophy, does she plan to give acting a serious thought? "I am open to offers as long as I am convinced about the project," she says. Director's actor For someone who never faced the camera before Nach Baliye, Tina says she needs a director who can mould her in the right way. "My choreographers Harshal and Vitthal proved that given the right direction, I can deliver. If I find someone like them who has the right vision, I will readily step into my acting shoes!" Is she open to acting with actors other than Hussain? "I don't know, but I would love to act with Hussain. Just being around him makes me relaxed and comfortable." There was a buzz that Kunal had approached Tina with a role. Reacting to this, she says, "That never happened. But he would always boost my morale and give me inspiration to perform better. In fact, after the finale, he even mentioned that I was his favourite and our win made him very happy." Cheers! Tina added the biggest cheerleaders during the finale were the residents of her old building where her parents stay. "I heard they all gathered on the terrace to watch our performance. I have such fond memories of that colony. I remember during the Cricket World Cup, everyone would crowd on the terrace and cheer for Ravi Shastri. When I heard something similar had happened for me, it made me very emotional. In fact, when I called my dad to give him the news, I could hear all of them cheering in the background." Among the other contestants, Tina bonded the most with Manav Gohil and Shweta Kawaatra. "After we were declared the winners, I looked at Shweta and she started crying. She never breaks down and shows her emotions in public. Watching her crying, even I burst into tears. I remember Hussain saying that if they were with us in the finals, it wouldn't matter who won because we had become good friends." Hussain says that Tina's dancing ability took him completely by surprise and could do the same with her acting skills as well. He says, "For the last three months she's not only amazed the judges and the audience, but me as well. If she wants to take up acting, I will definitely support her. I won't be surprised if she turns out to be a good actress as well!" |
