Ladies! The Jassi ka Safar is one of the pleasantest surprises Sony has ever given us.
I was half-scared it would be a repeat telecast of the make-over business.
Far from it.
It rained Armaan and Jassi!
tThia should have been re-named as 'Armaan Jassi ka pyaar ka safar'!
It had Armaan recollecting their journey of love, from the very beginning.
They first show the 'Tu meri jaan hai' song.
It was sooooooo soooo refreshing to be transported back to the good old incomparable Gulmohur days. So wonderful to catch glimpses of our old, sweet, little, uncorrupted little Jassi and our adorable jerk, Mr.Attitude Suri.
It started with Jassi's first confronting Armaan and Mallika in the Boardroom. From the beginning, Armaan automatically defends her in front of Mal.
They are really made for each other.
Jassi was so in awe of A and so naive. Loved it when she talks to his coat and hugs him in fear on seeing the coackroach in her cabin!
The triumvirate of Raj, Armaan and Jassi stirred old sweet memories. Sigh! Come back please?
The jealous Armaan Suri and his shocked face on Jassi slapping him are priceless!
The fatal Boardroom, the V-day hug and the defeated Armaan who helplessly watches J leave him to go to Mauritius, did something to my heart.
Armaan the says that the separation not only taught him what love and J were but he also learnt about himself. Armaan getting drunk, teling the barman that he has lost J forever and J getting her make-over is shown alternately.
The make-over was a touch and go. Thankfully, they didn't dwell on it much.
Armaan then says self-mockingly that love is blind and in his case, it is literally true. He couldn't recognize his J!
But, he knew in his heart of hearts it was her. That's why he was drawn to her unconsciously.
Then the Gurudwara scene, the restaurant scene where he tells her he doesn't love Jessica. They show the various gorgeous promos and then the romantic court scene where J recollects the times when he told her 'I love you'.
Then 'Tham Ja' and then Armaan arriving at her place to claim his 8 hours and then him proposing to her in his room. Finally, the 'Tu meri jaan hai'.
One hint, if I may call it that, that Armaan gave was that theirs has been one difficult journey and finally they are going to belong to each other.
NOW, NOBODY IS GOING TO COME BETWEEN THEM! HE INVITED US VIEWERS TO SHARE IN THEIR HAPPINESS!'
I don't know what to think of it? I'm not brooding over this right now. I'm just enjoying this unexpected surprise! Really old is gold!
While Armaan was narrating what theyw ent through, he ahd adreamy lok of a man who has gone through a lot but has now got his manzil. The perfect lover, violently in love, looking forward to the happy days in store for them! Loved him! Lucky J!
The whole thing was beautiful. When they were showing the GM days the words that left my mouth were "Tham Ja Zindagi Tham ja!"
What I wouldn't do to get those days back!
I salute Armaan and Jassi's love! They deserve each other. Today's safar made me realize that Armaan and Jassi have indeed surpassed all obstacles, burnt themselves and purified themselves off their sins. They deserve all the happiness and bliss marriage can offer them.
