Now to the actual episode…
If yesterday's episode reminded one of parineeta with the train whistle and all, today's episode was a Yash Chopra…DDLJ hurrah !!!!!!!!!!
Armaan's car :-
Armaan is sitting in his car sad that Jassi has left for Amritsar. The phone rings "hello" He is surprised that it is his dad….
Puru – where are you Armaan?
Armaan – I am coming home dad. I am happy that you have come back
Puru – oh yes! Obviously I am back. My only son is getting engaged and how would I not come?
Armaan – but the engagement can only be held at Amritsar…
Puru (not perturbed) – so what, let it be held there….we will all go to Amritsar
Armaan – can you please try convincing mom and angel as they don't seem convinced about the engagement
(at the background, ila and anjali cannot believe what puru has just said. Anjali says that they are not even middle class but lower middle class and how could we even think of going to another city for the engagement?😡)
puru is not very happy listening to this conversation.
(they continue – the walias promised us that the engagement would be held here and now they want it in Amritsar – this shows their double standards😡.)
Purab's office:-
He is giving four of his managers, instructions regarding the bridal collection launch. Mr. Roy is also seated (the one that mallika was talking to). He is trying to pep them up about the latest launch where he wants to re-introduce jassi. He wants the conference to be really big with hoardings all over the city and excellent publicity. He acknowledges the lack of time and urges the managers to work doubly hard to ensure success…
Train
Train comes to the kathnangal station and the setup is rural Punjab with fimly style village music, a tractor, agricultural scenes, fields, tangas etc….
The walias approach their sister's house in such a tanga…
Billu's sister's house:-
It is a typical kuchcha rural village home (with the chaarpai, gobar, mud house etc etc).
The occupants of billu's sister's house consist of 4 people- 2 sisters, 1 jeejaaji and (I guess) their son chaman
They are all happy to see the walias. When billu and amrit introduce jassi, they are pretty taken aback as they couldn't initially recognise her.
Their son chaman mistakes Nandu to be a servant (poor thing I wonder why he receives this treatment wherever he goes) and asks him to bring all the samaan home. Nandu declines as they are too heavy. Chaman dares Nandu threatening that he is the Hero No.1. and better not get into any fights.
As usual the lovely bebe intercepts to save Nandu just in time and they all have a hearty laugh😕
Meanwhile, billu mentions that he would like to make a call and the jeejaaji ushers him to the telephone
Billu (calls the suri's residence)– hello can I speak to mr. Suri?
Puru- may I know who is calling
Billu – repeats his requests
Puru – may I know which suri you would like to speak to?
Billu – don't kid I would not obviously address armaan as mr.suri. I am mr balwant walia, father of jasmeet walia and present currently at Amritsar
Puru – oh hello mr walia, I am mr. Purushottam suri, father of armaan
Obviously there is embarrassment smitten over billo's face and he apologises😳.
He then continues the conversation with puru mentioning that the walias have reached Amritsar safely, and they would like to know when the suris are planning to fix the engagement so that the walias would be present in mumbai accordingly…
Inspite of billo's repeated requests for the date, puru pulls billo's leg telling him repeatedly that he will tell him the engagement date when they meet…(billo obviously doesn't understand the hint and is flabbergasted) puru then laughs, clearing his doubt that anjali, armaan, ila and himself will personally be coming to Amritsar for the engagement.
Billo is extremely happy and announces this news to the whole family seated outside….the walias (esp jassi) cannot contain their happiness…and the aunts join in the celebration (now how they all already knew about armaan and jassi's ding dong is beyond my comprehension😕)
Mallika
Mallika is trying to convince mr. Roy that the work is very easy and that he is being paid a hefty sum of 2 lakhs so he must do it. However, roy is not convinced as he feels it is illegal and he could get into trouble for doing this. Mallika hikes the price to 4 lakhs and this seems to have a magical effect on roy
billu's sister's house
Lots of preparations in the house as the suris are going to come kathnangal…(all sorts of orders darting back and forth - bring new vessels, get biscuits from the bazaar, remove the gobar, where will they sleep)
The aunts are a little perplexed as to the kind of people the suris would be…so our evergreen hero nandu shows them a magazine with photos of our hero armaan, their house and the fashion house…
The aunts cannot still understand the work they do and Nandu tries explaining that they design very expensive clothes that high-class people like film actors buy.
The aunts seem to think that they are extremely rich khaandaani tailors😕 **duh**
Chaman mentions that the clothes just look like wrapped around blankets and these sorta clothes are only bought and worn by govinda. (This govinda wannabe adds that if one can become so rich doing this work, he is also coming to mumbai…)
Now is the best part

Punjabi kudi called "beauty" arrives with her matki (haa haa….) 😆and it seems like love at first sight for both the kudi and the sheher ka babu ….
As the pot is heavy Nandu tries helping and when he comes to know that her name is beauty, he mentions (something to the effect) that if he would have known this, his name would also be "handsome"😕…
Nandu comes to know that she is also a fan of fashion and aspires to be a modern kudi (all too convenient for our nandan verma)
purab
Purab comes in his black shiny just to find the walia house locked. He is not very happy and
(thinks to himself) jassi I thought you were my best friend. I wanted to do all this for you and now where have you gone. He sends her a sms regarding the new bridal collection asking her to be there at the conference at any cost.
The sad part-
Billu again calls suris house to give them the address
Billu – can I speak to mr suri
Anjali – who's this
Billu – its me, jassi's father mr balwant walia. As you all were coming to Amritsar I wanted to give you the telephone number and address. Someone will surely come to the station (oops) I mean airport to pick you up, but just in case I wanted you people to have this
Anjali (wicked smile) – station? Airport? I am sure there is some misunderstanding. We are not coming to Amritsar. LET ME BE VERY SPECIFIC NO ONE IS COMING
Sad billo keeps the phone down
Puru sees this and is not happy. He tries arguing with anjali, but she says that when their house here was so small and horrible, how could the suris even think of going to that village…
poor armaan also sees this😭 - he realises that things are not going to work this way
TERRACE
All buas are busy line maarifying armaan😡…(they are so proud that such a handsome guy will be calling them bua😕)….reality dawns on them when they realise that as the suris are so rich, they will not be able to stay in such a place or drink ordinary lassi….Nandu corrects them that only champagne will do (this stupid chaman mistakes the word champagne for shampoo and a lovely joke is cracked in the process😕)
This class differentiation makes jassi ponder on her future with armaan, when

billo brings the sad news that the suris are not coming.
BILLO
Bebe comes to the sad billu who thinks that they are not worthy of the suris and tells him that they have only come to Amritsar for babaji and maththaa tekna – all other things will be sorted later on.

Jassi (thinks) armaan, was your promise a false one? I trusted both you and your promise….oh armaan where are you where are you?😭😭😭

The idiot roy is actually taking jassi's face and juxta-placing it on photos of models wearing extremely revealing dresses….(mallika exhibiting her wicked smile)🤢

Nandu sees beauty who is taking a chaddar somewhere…..he wants to meet her but thinks the better of it and restrains himself
JASSI (this female is seriously reminding me of Kajol)
lying to the chaarpaai praying to Babaji – please let no one come in between me and armaan. My dreams are this close to being fulfilled – please don't let them crash

Lovely shots of the holy tank, queues, the holy saints, people praying, crowds, the temple itself, collecting prasad etc etc and the walia family are amidst all this following the rituals.
