Angel is shocked out of her wits to find Chaman in her room. She draws back on the bed, pulling the covers around her.
Angel: Tum mere kamre mein kya kar rahe ho..?
Chaman: Angel ji, meri baat suniye…..mujhe aapse bahut zaroori gal karni hai…
Angel: (irritably) Lekin mujhe tumse koi baat nahin karni!
Chaman: Angel ji, bas ek minute……mujhe pata chala ki aap mere saath….mera matlab hai, hum sab ke saath nahin aa rahi hai….kya main iski wajah pooch sakta hun?
Angel: Wajah main tumhe kyun bataun?
Chaman: Agar main kuch kar saku toh…..
Angel bursts into mocking laughter. "Tum! Tum mere liye kya kar sakte ho….??"
Chaman: (earnestly) Kuch bhi! Aapke liye toh main saari duniya se lad sakta hun ji!
Angel stops short in her laughter and stares at him. Her face softens ever so slightly. "Kya? Sachmuch?"
He gathers the courage to crawl to the foot of her bed. "Haan Angel ji…..", he gazes into her eyes, "agar aap nahin, toh Amritsar toh kya, yeh duniya mere liye kuch nahin!"
Angel's eyes are limpid with tears. "I'm sorry Chaman", she chokes, "main tumhari feelings ko kabhi samajh hi nahin paayi….main Amritsar zaroor chalungi!"😛😳
Chaman's face breaks into a broad grin.
BANG!!
Chaman has walked right into the bathroom door. He realizes with a start that he dreamt the whole thing.😆😆😆
After a while, a cleaned-up and much-subdued Chaman is back at the dinner table. Ila and Puru are sitting with tense faces. Puru looks apologetically at him. Chaman is embarrassed. Nandu is glaring at Meghna. Armaan is trying to grab Jassi's hand under the table.😳 It is only Meghna who goes on eating nonchalantly.
Armaan has just managed to catch hold of his jassi's hand, and is squeezing her fingers in his😳, when Puru speaks. Armaan jumps, Jassi manages to struggle out of his grasp and gives his hand a light slap. He casts a quick, puppy-dog reproachful look at her before turning his attention to Puru, who is saying, "Armaan beta, travel agent se keh kar, Amritsar mein ek rented car ka intezaam karva lo….Jassi ko raaste mein koi takleef nahin honi chahiye…"
Armu: Don't worry, Dad…maine sab intezaam kar liye hain….main Jassi ko zara si bhi problem nahin hone doonga!
Ila: (smiling) Main jaanti hoon….tum dono iss trip ke liye bahut excited ho!
Armu: Haan Mom…..(looks meaningfully at Jassi)….bahut excited!
Jassi blushes. Armaan seizes the opportunity and grabs her hand again.😳
Puru: Chaman beta, tumhe bhi bahut achcha lag raha hoga….waapas ghar jaana…
Chaman: (not too enthusiastically) Haan ji uncle ji….
Puru: (obviously struggling to make conversation) Kaisa hai wahan gaon mein?
Chaman: Bahut achcha hai uncle ji….peele sarson ke khet….kuen ka paani (Ila nearly chokes in horror😉)…..chhat par manji daal kar sona…..ghar ki thandi lassi…(Meghna is listening in spite of herself)…..Harmandir Sahib jaana…..aur pind ke pir baba….
Armaan: Pir baba?
Chaman: Haan jeejaji…..hamare pind ke saath wale ilake mein, ek siddh baba rehte hain….unhe kisi ka haath dekhne ki zaroorat nahin hai….maatha padhke hi sab bata dete hain….aur unke paas har dard ki davaa hai….
Meghna is now listening with ears wide open. She excitedly interrupts, "Really?"
Chaman: Haan ji, yeh bilkul sach hai ji….unhone hi Beauty ko bataya tha ki uski kisi bade sheher mein naukri lagegi….aur dekho….
Meghna thinks, "Wow! I have to check this out! Agar main inn baba se mil kar unse training le lu, toh mere Yantric-Tantric Cosmic Healing Science mein ek nayi cheez add ho jayegi—forehead-reading!😕 😆Mujhe Amritsar jaana hoga!"
After dinner, when Chaman and Nandu have left and JandA have retired to their room, Puru and Ila make a last attempt to convince a bleary-eyed Angel. Meg enters the room with a flourish.
Meg: Auntie…Uncle…maine decide kar liye hai…main Amritsar chalungi!
Ila: (in delight) Kya ! That's great, beta!
Puru: (patting her on her head) Tumne bilkul sahi decision liya hai beta! Angel…(turning to her)…tumne kaha tha ki Meghna chalegi toh tum bhi chalogi….toh main samjhun ki tumhara jawab haan hai?
Angel has no choice 😃. With a grimace, she gives her commitment: "Theek hai Dad…main chalungi!"
Tomorrow: Almost ready
