Everyone and everything's changed.
Today's episode made me feel so overwhelmingly sad for Atharv and Vividha. As I watched them both separately struggling with unexplainable feelings, I realised how much circumstances have changed them both.
I think today, we were shown how much Vividha has suffered because of her forced marriage. From the bubbly, happy girl who had happily dreamt of a life with Atharv, we are now left with a broken woman who can't express or understand why she feels what she feels. We always felt that once Atharv would come back, everything would be okay. But life's not like that. There's no magic wand that suddenly takes away your hurt and pain. When you've lived for three months with words suppressed, feelings hidden and grief masked, it's suddenly very difficult to show those feelings because you just become so good at hiding them.
And this is where Vividha stands now. For three months all she wanted was Atharv back and then for him to get well. For three months she was forced to act as a wife, a daughter in law and in effect a 'mother' to baby Atharv. She fed him, played with him, put him to sleep and now that Atharv Sujata is back, she doesn't know how to switch off these emotions and become 'normal' again. Vividha is so lost.
And Atharv.
He's finally realised everything is not okay. Vividha has changed and it hurts because he can't read her like he used to. The vivacious Vividha, whom he only had to look at to see what she felt, is hidden behind this dark cloud which he can't seem to reach.
I loved Atharv's conversation with Sujata. It was a beautiful moment of honesty and a confession by this man who just wants wants Vividha to be happy even if it means losing his whole world.
Today I felt that we finally had our old Sujata back who understood exactly what Atharv was thinking and who gave him clarity with her words. Vividha still loves only Atharv and wants to be with him yet the deep pain she had suffered in the last few months had changed her.
Atharv Sujata will always be the man we love. He understood that Vividha was fighting a battle within herself and he just wanted her to find herself. And he would help her. And although he didn't voice his fear, Sujata voiced it for him.
'Is it possible that Vividha loves Ravish?'
And as Sujata quickly dispelled those doubts, Atharv admitted that yes, it would hurt but at the end of the day if that's what she wanted, then it would be okay. Because for him, her happiness is everything. He will let her choose what she wants.
Atharv and Vividha are so near yet so far, and they don't know how to reach across to each other. Their pain is unbearable to see.
