Hi All!
First of all, I sincerely apologize for barging into this forum and making a post. Being a Mr Dubey fan, I finally couldn't stop myself. Very few actors get to play a character like 'Siddharth Khurana'. His personality gives ample scope to the actor to showcase his talent. Ravi, I feel is truly blessed, to be able to enact two truly multi-faceted characters like Siddharth and Raghu. He has done full justice in portraying their strikingly opposite personalities.
After reading many of the other topics posted by various members of this forum, based on the precap, I was driven to think that maybe Sid is impersonating Raghu because he had promised a dying Raghu to leave his previous life and take care of 'maai' (Raghu's mother) by taking her son's place in her life. All loyal viewer's of the show know how IDEALISTIC Sid is - in fact it is this trait of his personality that attracts and enthralls both young and old audiences alike. If Sid promised a dying man, he will surely keep his promise, no matter what it costs him. After all Sid is a gentleman. This reason to some extent justifies all Sid/Raghu's efforts to keep himself emotionally unavailable to Roshni and to make her believe that he is RAGHU and NOT SID, so that Roshni does not get her hopes high and tomorrow when he has to leave, Roshni does not feel broken again. Even now he is protecting his Roshni from being hurt in future by repeating again and again that he is Raghu. [I don't want the creatives of the show to read this and get ideas though.]
I saw many forum-members predicting Roshni's reaction on learning about Sid's lies - many believe that she would be justified in being angry with him as his actions would have hurt her. I just see the other side of the coin - where I see a man (Sid) who had to give up his identity completely for a greater cause. Identity is what makes us what we are, without it we are nothing. I get goosebumps thinking of losing my identity even for a second. I cannot begin to imagine the pain a man must go through and the immense mental strength he must have, in order to willingly give up his identity and thereby lose all touch with the people he loves (supposing there is no real memory loss).
I apologize for the long post. Hope you all have some views to share. Even disagreements are welcome. Eagerly awaiting your reply.
with warm regards
Priya
