I don't think so... Even in movies they are showing violence. But in my POV it is basically from the way of brought up, the friends and society in which they are living😊
Those who has the mind set to take gud things frm television, movies or wherever, it won't bother them.

Not really television could play a small part in violence today but we have more things that influencing people today...Violence can come about by the person background, or by social media

I don't think it is the leading cause, however I think it's a big contributing factor. For example if there was an episode of one of the crime based shows such as CID (the first one that came to my mind) where they showed certain crime being portrayed than a person could easily use an idea from it and possibly tweak it up to their needs to commit a crime.

I don't know if news stories are included in the "television" category or not. However if they are not I would consider that more of a source of leading cause. I believe because a lot of the shootings that have occurred have has been result of previous ones. So if there was not as much news coverage on it especially on the details I feel like some of the shootings could have been stopped.

Television and other media have always been blamed about showcasing violence to a large extent. Many television shows are infamous for their violent content. Television violence is about murders, bloodshed, explosions, disaster and death. TV shows often demonstrate hitting, stabbing, screaming, thus expressing negativity. This destruction shown on television has a deep impact on the viewers, especially children. Considering the impressionable years they are in, children are most vulnerable to violence on TV.
