Ekta Kapoor has eventually got her new Bani in Gurdeep Kohli. But is all alright between the Queen of Soaps and the original Bani, Prachi Desai?
The fame of Kasamh Se, Prachi Desai will soon be replaced by Gurdeep Kohli. The actress who caught the attention of all with her performance in Sanjivini, had always been the first choice for Ekta Kapoor. "We were always keen on having Gurdeep right from day one, as we thought that she can do justice to the role of Bani after Prachi, but I had kept other options open too", states Ekta Kapoor.
When asked how she reacted when Prachi decided to leave Kasamh Se that got her fame and join the Bollywood league, Ekta explains very patiently, "I don't think I can stop anybody from moving ahead in life. Secondly Farhan as well as Prachi are dear to me, and I wish them all the very best for the film". Adding on, Ekta states, "When Prachi came and told me about her Bollywood offer and the condition laid before her to quit television, I was very supportive of her and asked her to give me a three months notice period, so that I could hunt for another Bani. Prachi readily agreed to it and things happened as planned for both of us".
There has also been a buzz that Ekta has spent good bucks for Prachi's exit and Gurdeep's entry episode, wherein the protagonist Bani will suffer a major setback where her face gets disfigured.
It is also heard that the long and sweet association that Prachi had with Ekta eventually gave up, when Prachi during a photo shoot refused to put up a blood-smeared face to portray a slashed face. Well, Prachi sighted the reason that excess make-up will eventually spoil her skin, and just walked off from the set leaving the entire unit clueless! When asked about this incident, Ekta quickly said, "No comments on this please".
Well, have things really turned sour between Prachi and Ekta? We never know!!
