How long was the dwapar yuga? When did it start - with the coronation of Kush? Also, is there a breakdown for the 29-125 years above into different events - Krishna's marriage to Rukmini (how old was she?), meeting with Sudama, wars with Jarasandha, Purandara Vasudeva, Narakasura, Swayamtaka muni & marriages to Jambavati & Satyabhama, Yudhisthir's Rajasuya yagna & the killing of Shishupala, war with Shalva, Dantavakra et al, as well as other events like Pradhyumna's re-union with the family, birth of Anirudha, Anirudha's marriage to Usha, Krishna defeating Banasura, et al?

I have a bunch of questions not clear from reading the forum rules and guidelines:

  • What is the scope of this forum - Krishna's entire life, or only that shown in the serial? Incidentally, does this serial plan to cover Krishna's entire life, or just his childhood, culminating in the killing of Kamsa? And if the former, will the Mahabharat also be a part of it?
  • Also, if the scope is Krishna's entire life, is any/all of the Mahabharat considered a part of it, or is it considered off-topic, particularly when Krishna isn't involved?
  • Is it legitimate to discuss differences between accounts of Krishna's life as in Bhagvad Puranas, vs the Mahabharat, wherever they appear?
  • Are other avatars of Vishnu (this question doesn't apply to Rama or Ramayan) considered off-topic?

Thanks

You are welcome Anjali...
Krishna was never killed and no one can kill him, cos he is the Supreme power of entire Universe, He controls everything, he has created Yama (messenger of death), so he has control over Death (Yama)..
The people those who write tht Krishna was killedare sheer ignorant..It is mentioned in Bhagwad Puran that when he was hit by an arrow while resting under a tree, all the Gods and Devi, Devtas were watching from sky, they wanted to see how their Lord goes to his abode..i.e Go-lok Dhaam..But Shri Krishna dissappeared in friction of seconds, there was sudden lightning and no one could see how he went in his abode..
In Geeta he says to Arjun while showing his Virat roop..that he is Yama, He is a Kaal... 😊

Krishna was not 'killed'. What happened was that after Jara shot his foot, he discovered who he had shot and begged his forgiveness, and Krishna blessed him. After that, Indra and the devas came to take Krishna to Vaikuntha.

Having said all that, when Arjun arrived at Dwaraka, he performed the last rites for everyone who had been killed in that ultimate fight that resulted in the death of the Yadava, Vrishi and Andhaka. Vasudeva & Ugrasena died the day after his arrival, and Arjun also went searching for Balarama and Krishna. Not finding them, he assumed that they too were dead and performed their last rites as well. So while Krishna may not technically have 'died', his shradh was performed, along with that of his kinsmen, by Arjun.
