6 May 2008 - Shridhar's Puja Sabotaged !

The episode starts with a distressed Sunaina at Devi's mandir. Shridhar and Panditji reassure her that whatever Mata-Rani does, She does for the upliftment of her Bhaktas. One must have faith and trust, and no prayer to Her is left unanswered. Panditji tells the couple that Chaita Navaratri is coming up this month. They should fast for 9 days and perform kanjika-pujan (worshiping Devi in the form of young girls).

At home, Shridhar and Sunaina bow down to Devi's murti and take a sankalpa to fast for Navaratri and perform puja. The then do the Kanjika pujan (I thought 9 girls had to be invited for the prayer – but I could only count 7 in the scene!!😆). They wash the girls' feet, gift them with red chunaris, and perform arti on them.

At Bhairon's cave, Goraknath comes in running, screaming "Gurudev, a calamity has occurred ! Shridhar and his wife are undertaking Devi's vrat". Bhairon can't imagine how a poor Brahmin like Shridhar can perform puja – so he looks into his yagya-kund to get a vision of what's happening at Shridhar's house.

Bhaironath asks Goraknath why the couple is undertaking all these prayers. Goraknath says that the couple is desirous of a child. And if they perform the vrat successfully, Devi will grant them a child. Bhairon gets incensed and proclaims he will destroy Ma Shakti. He will make the couple's puja unsuccessful and will use them to get to Shakti – and show Her who is more powerful.

A tearful Bhabhi is searching for her lost Munna. She asks the villagers but noone in the village has seen him. Goraknath arrives and reassures Bhabhi that with Baba Baironath around noone can harm Munna. When Bhabhi recognizes him as the very man that was trying to kill Munna, Goraknath pacifies her by saying that he only did that because her brother-in-law Shridhar was hatching a conspiracy against Baironath. Now that they've kicked Shridhar out of the house, Bhaironath will help them. Goraknath then takes Bhabhi to the cave.

At Bhaironath's cave, Bhabhi sees the vision of Munna in the yagya-kund . Bhairon says that Munna is safe for just for now. He lies to Bhabhi that her childless devrani – Sunaina has kidnapped Munna to sacrifice him. Bhairon shows Bhabhi a false vision of the future – where Shridhar and Sunaina are killing Munna – seeing which Bhabhi swoons and weeps😭.

Bhairon then tells her that to save Munna, she should obstruct Shridhar's Kanjika-prayer so that they will not be able to complete the puja and perform a child-sacrifice on Munna. Bhairon then gives her a poisonous powder to use.

Bhabhi goes to Shridhar's house and sweet-talks them about how she misses them and how quiet the house has become without them. She invites them to move back in once the Navaratra vrat is complete.

Bhabhi then helps Sunaina to prepare and serve the food to the girls who were attending the Kanjika-puja. She stealthily slips the poison into the food, and makes an excuse and leaves the house quickly. Shridhar serves the poisoned food to the girls – they partake of it and die immediately. Frantic Sunaina tries to revive them but to no avail. On the other side Bhabhi return to her house to find Munna – she's overjoyed. Bhairon is also happy that his evil plan succeeded.

In the village, people are mourning over the death of the girls – they accuse Shridhar and Sunaina of being a Rakshas and Witch. Bhabhi is shown grinning smugly. The episode abruptly ends on Shridhar and Sunaina's worried faces.

Shridhar and Sunaina make a good couple – I like their acting. I just feel Shridhar looks too healthy and muscular to be "garib Brahmin"😕! He should lose some weight. Chaahat Khanna looks good as a pitiful Sunaina.

The actress that plays Bhabhi also acts well – her histrionics are entertaining.

I hate the silly way in which Bhairon and Goraknath act – and the Laughter. Indian serials still don't know how to portray evil characters. People dressed in black and having a fetish for skulls are not frightening – just silly!😡

😃The background music was nice.

I would have liked a little bhajan when they were performing the kanjika puja

Overall – not a fantastic episode – but at least it made the story progress.

Thank you. Wasnt shying - I just hate to make commitments and then disappoint. It was fun doing writenupdate tho. Hope I have the "tanacity" to continue tan!
