When the music is striking!
Car accident marks the beginning of Jabb Love Hua

Ka ghazab hua, jabb love hua! The title song from Zee's latest show by Tony and Deeya Singh is on everyone's lips. While no one seems to be bothered about the literal meaning of the lyrics which means, 'Expect the unexpected when you fall in love', the unit members of the show were left wondering when they actually witnessed the unexpected taking place on the sets. That, too, on the first day of the shoot!

It so happened that the serial's entire unit was in Wai near Mahabaleshwar to shoot the promo of the serial. The shot required a flashy red car zooming past the poor villagers. The car was supposed to be driven by this hot-headed city girl who doesn't care about anyone around her. In order to give it an extra-lavish feel, the producers had organised a costly red sports car (a special limited edition of Honda) so that it looks authentic. Since the shot involved such an expensive car, the director made sure that the actress knew driving very well.

"The actress knew how to drive and there was no way one could have thought of such an accident taking place," says an eye witness who was present at the location when the first shot of the promo saw a huge accident. "Saari galti us gaane ki hai," he further comments adding that had it not been for the title track, the accident could have been averted. What comes to light is a very interesting story. The promo director, Jai Singh, says 'Action!', the heroine Priya Badlani starts the car, presses the accelerator pad, zooms past the camera and everyone hears the director sayings 'Cut; very nice'.

But the very next moment, they all turn to see the sports car smashed against an electric pole. "The girl was so engrossed in humming the title song that she didn't even realise that she was heading for the electric pole," adds the eye witness. Thank God there were no casualties given the fact that the pole had live electric wires hanging from it. But one thing is for sure that people, especially those who like to hum while driving, need to be careful of this electrifying tune.

It's lady luck for me this month"

Sudeep Sahir's most remembered for being the affectionate doc in Sony's Ayushman. The actor's now has struck gold after bagging the lead role in the channel's next big show, Jabb Love Hua. Not only does the actor get to play Raghu, a villager, but he also gets to share screen space with veteran ators like Suhasini Mulay and Rameshwari. And with his impending marriage this month, Sudeeep's cup of joy is surely brimming!
Kavita Shyam spoke to the actor about his role and life.

Sudeep:Playing a simple villager

My role in Jabb Love Hua
I play Raghu who is a sweet, simple, straight forward and hard working villager in Jabb Love Hua. He loves his village immensely and is a complete contrast to Anya played by Priya Badlani. How they fall in love eventually despite their differences is what the story is all about.

Why I took up the role
After Ayushman there was nothing much happening in terms of work. I was in Delhi and was called by the DJ's for an audition. The show has an amazing content and DJ's have done good stuff in the past from Banegi Apni Baat to Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi. There shows are not just based on women rather they bring about a variety in every character. I think I have come a long way from the Chana ve music video to Ayushman to the present show. Jabb Love Hua is a very balanced show and DJ's are chilled out in their working style.

Preparing for the role (playing Raghu)
We had a couple of workshops and Deeya kept giving us inputs about our characters. Since I am from Delhi so Hindi wasn't a problem! I made sure I didn't go over the top with my character and could maintain a subtle body language.

Priya Badlani and Sudeep: Onscreen Lovers!

Do I relate to the character?
I do relate myself to the character. He's a simple, shy, helpful and relaxed person besides being very clean hearted and emotional.

What kept me away after Ayushman
I was in Delhi after Ayushman. I got engaged in June, we are Punjabi's so we had a rokka ceremony in June as we had decided to get married in April. Jabb Love Hua happened but it was supposed to be launched in early this year and somehow it got delayed. So it's lady luck for me this month with me getting married on 29 April and my show launching on 24 April. I couldn't have asked for more.

Looking forward to my marriage
Marriage is on my mind for now, I did all the preparations for the wedding before Jabb Love Hua started but now that I have got busy with the show , my family is looking after the arrangements and preparations in Delhi. I will go home three days before my wedding since I have no time left. My honeymoon will happen in July and I plan to go to Europe. My wife is an MBA and we have known each other for more than three years now.

Future plans
I am open to doing ads but I have no time for theatre or any other show. I want to do one show at a time and relax. I had been replacements in Kyun Hota Hai Pyar and Ayushman but this is my first lead role. I don't want to take up any other shows as I believe in concentrating on one show at a time. I need to strike a balance between my personal and professional life.

She played the love interest to Bachchan Junior in Naach, a bit-part in Khalid Mohammed's Silsiilay and the Punjabi kudi in Aamir Khan's Coke Series last year. And 20-something Priya Badlani is now set to conquer the small screen with Jab Love Hua on Zee TV. Playing a rich brat Aanya, Badlani is happy to be doing something really meaty. "Theatre, stage or film - the medium doesn't really matter! Besides, everybody will identify with the character… "
Ask her if she's as bratty as her character and she laughs, "I am tamed. Aanya is not. She has a long way to go!" She sidesteps our question on who may be responsible for taming the shrew with a diplomatic "Reality. The World!" Quiz her on whether she's single and she steps it up by saying, "Sure - surround me with some hot hunks and I am definitely single!"
She loves her workout. Loves watching movies and being a couch potato. Wants to travel to Mexico for their Vanilla festival and loves the Marlin Brando type. She also knows how to up the sexy factor with her husky laughter. And yes, for someone who always wanted to play photographer and stay behind the camera, she's doing a great job being in front of it!

Sudip's birthday plans!

Sudip Sahir is way too busy with Jab Love Hua and claims to have no time left for anything else in life. The actor has been working non stop since his marriage and could barely take time out for his honeymoon (to Europe). For now the actor is content with the show's rising TRPs and he plans to celebrate his birthday in Bangkok with wifey dearest.

"I am planning to take a break next month as my birthday is on 7 December. We plan to hit Bangkok for about three days. I would have preferred to go to London but due to lack of time and its proximity I will have to make do with the far- east," says the actor whose claim to fame has been Ayushmaan and Kyun Hota Hai Pyar.

Here's hoping the actor enjoys his well deserved break.
